I've read the 41-page sign-up docs of Leigh Day, and seems they're the only ones who'll be in win-win situation when either the case wins or loses.
Win: obvious 35% cut
Lose: client/you pay for their so-called basic, admin, or whatever charges they'll throw at you, not really a genuine no-win-no-fee as per advertised in their website.0 -

There have, of course, been many threads on this already, and anybody interested could just search for them. They have been all but unanimous in the community's opinion of the merits of these cases.Stupid forum software! Why does it have links that don't look like links?It's probably also why people keep posting to sub-forums when they should be using the main one. But those headings don't even look like links. 😡If it sticks, force it.

Leigh Day pay for insurance which covers you for any cost if they lose.

Hello,I purchased a VW Diesel during the years highlighted, never experienced any issue and would not have been that bothered on the emissions... However, due to the problem, VW had to 'fix' the defeat device the car was fitted with, even though I didnt want the fix completed as I was aware of all the problems owners had reported after they had had it done.Problem was, it wasnt possible to 'decline' having the fix applied and although I delayed things as much as possible, in order to preserve the warranty I had no choice but to have it done. Efficency suffered and we had noticably worse fuel economy after the fix.To make matters worse, although VW extended the warranty by 12 months after the work was done due to making the modifications, sure enough on the 13th month, the Diesel Particulate Filter blocked and we needed an expensive replacement. VW would not help with the cost, even though so many owners had experienced the same issue post fix.I have now sold the car, but really struggled to sell it and had to take a reduced price as people viewing, all used it as an excuse (rightly or wrongly) to pay less for the vehicle due to everything that VW had done.So, I would suggest owners HAVE taken a loss on owning these affected vehicles if after the scandal broke they retained the vehicles.All the above said, I HAVE NOT joined any of the action as I was sure when this first happened, that Martin L said that he didnt recommend joining the group action as if the court found in favour of the claimants, post judgement it would be reletively easy to bring your own claim or even just write a letter to VW in order to obtain whatever compensation was ruled appropriate. This being just like in the case of the Bank Charges claims, due to their being a precident set or judgment made.Is that not still the case? Or do you think someone who doesnt join the action, couldnt make an easy claim after the fact if the judge rules that owners have suffered financially? Just would rather not line the pockets of lawyers!Thanks for any advice.0

I had a diesel Chrysler Jeep in 2008 for a few years and I want to make a claim, the only problem is I can't remember the reg no of the car, I have a different car now and a difference insurance company. Is there any way of finding out the reg no?1
