What I can't work out is that in the tray there are 2 spaces, one I presume is for an SD card and one for something else which is so tiny that I can't figure out what it is for....

Any chance you could post a picture of the SIM tray (with an sd card in shot for scale)? Could you also post the tablet model number?0

Given they have recently raised costs from 3-2-1 to 10-10-5 - you could see the logic to them of killing of voice and txts on the data reward sim ?

have you tried a serial number search for the manual?

if very small probably nano sim, most are supplied as 3in1 and you have to pop out the nano
trays are pretty standard.
