Euro Car Parks parking fine (staying after store had closed)

            Email not letter.
At the start make it clear it's also a complaint about the Store:I am writing to you with a formal complaint about regards to a parking charge notice I received in the post following a visit to your Sutton High Street (SM1 1LD) store on the 10th May 2021.
This complaint is not only about the unfair parking charge, but also about the Store staff. I was horrified by the utter disinterest and rudeness I encountered when I went back to the Store to ask the Manager to cancel it, as I have discovered your rivals Tesco, Morrisons , Aldi and Asda all do when genuine customers are caught out by unfair ANPR 'auto-ticketing'.PRIVATE 'PCN'? Thanks @KeithP.
Will update the sentence to read as follow:
"On this particular visit I spent £22.73 in store, arriving at 22:00:33pm according to the parking charge notice. I left the car park at 23:53:33pm, meaning I was parked for exactly 1hour and 53 minutes which is below the maximum 2 hour stay allowed. I am able to provide evidence of my in-store transaction that day within both my credit card and nectar applications."
(unfortunately I didn't actually take a paper receipt , but I recall spending around 20 mins shopping, so will have paid for this around 10:20pm ish) If they did question that my evidence was even linked to this visit, it does have a transaction ID which I know will contain a date and time stamp for my transaction (but that seems a bit OTT in my eyes)0

Put your Nectar card number in the subject line and he can check for the receipt.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

*^This sounds great! Will get that add in. (and very true, as I had spent money, stayed under 2 hours and after speaking over the phone to the customer services team, felt it was pretty likely they would go ahead and arrange for the charge to be cancelled. Unfortunately the jobs worth behind the customer service desk had other ideas and basically ensured the duty manager wouldn't even bother coming down to hear my case)Coupon-mad said:Email not letter.

I wonder how many customers, like myself have been caught out by such rules, despite always being careful to remaining remain within the maximum period allowed and if there is a financial incentive for Sainsbury’s when parking charge notices are given out and what impact this has on your core business. As well as the errant "penalty charge notice" maybe change the above as indicated.3

That was basically a waste of time....received almost the same worded email reply as I received following my initial contact with the executive team, from the same person as well!
 Guess back onto POPLA...??
Response received:Thank you for your e-mail to Simon Roberts which has been received into our Executive Office. As your case manager, Simon has asked me to respond to you on his behalf.I am sorry you are unhappy with the parking charge notice you have received and understand your disappointment. As advised, I have spoken with the store who have advised they do offer 2 hours free parking , however as this is only for Sainsburys customers the 2-hour free parking is only in place during store trading hours and the Sutton store does closes at 23.00 hours. The store has confirmed the terms and conditions are located on the signs in the car park, the signs also state the times the 2hour free parking is in place. It does also confirm a 10-minute maximum stay outside the store opening hours. It would be the customers responsibility to ensure they adhere to the terms and conditions of the car park when using it.Due to the amount of time taken to exit the car park after the store had closed, I would be unable to assist you further.Should you have any disputes regarding this matter then you would have to address this directly with the parking operator, using the contact details on the Parking Charge Notice itself.I appreciate this may not be the response you anticipated and for that I apologise.Kind Regards, Stacey Morgan 0

Cut your Nectar card in half and send it top the CEO. Get friends and family to do the same.
Next time you do a big shop in a different retailer, send a copy of the receipt to the Sainsbugs CEO so he knows how much his store will miss out on every week for the rest of your life.
Mr Roberts obviously does not want you as a customer.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister. All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks3 All my screwdrivers are cordless."You're Safety Is My Primary Concern Dear" - Laks3

As it was a NTH though, you will win at POPLA due to ECP’s non-compliance with para 14 of the POFA.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

The POPLA route would be a good outcome but it won't hurt Sainbugs to note how annoyed you, as an ex-customer, are!Coupon-mad said:As it was a NTH though, you will win at POPLA due to ECP’s non-compliance with para 14 of the POFA.4

            Thanks all!
LOL @Fruitcake this is exactly what I feel like doing but I doubt they will even care given the responses I have received to date. Although I wont shop in their stores again and will spend my Nectar points on Ebay.
