Arggh! Garage delaying warrenty work

Umm, no.[DELETED USER] said:
That's not the OP's problem though, it's the garage's. Their obligation to the OP is to fix it under warranty in reasonable time, if it takes them longer to get the money back that's too bad for them.AdrianC said:
So they may well be awaiting approval from the warranty company. Clutch parts are usually excluded as "wear and tear", so they will have to do some work to persuade them.Blowsbubbles said:
Third party (not backstreet). garage warrenty for approved parts on new clutch and master cylinderAdrianC said:What sort of warranty are we talking about?
Manufacturer's new-vehicle warranty?
Manufacturer's approved-used warranty?
Some other commercial third-party used-vehicle warranty?
A back-street garage's verbal "We'll see you right, mate."?
The job should be doable at any garage approved by the warranty company, though.
If the OP wants the warranty company to pay for the work, then he has to jump through the warranty company's hoops.
If he just wants it fixing, and is happy to pay, then that's fine.
Warranty is not the same as consumer rights.0 -
The warrenty I was given is by the garage. The clutch has been faulty since its been fitted about 6 weeks ago. This is the ~4th time its been in since fitting... Been in the garage longer than I've had it this month.
They've admitted fault and said they'll change... But everyday it's there they don't look at it. I ring and get the same bull that they've been busy and haven't had chance to look.
I rang again yesterday saying I wasn't happy with having to keep waiting, he replied that if I kept ringing everyday they weren't going to look until next week. Arggh
Sent a letter of action via email, (I live miles away from garage so couldn't visit) though heard nothing back and notice they have different email addresses advertised so now unsure if sent to correct address.
I'll get onto CAB I guess see what I can do with regards to consumer rights

I thought you said it was a commercial third-party one?Blowsbubbles said:The warrenty I was given is by the garage.

I think its called a "LETTER before action" for a reason - So maybe write rather than email
I think there is also a legal(?) presumption of delivery of a letter after a couple of days

The written warrenty I have is with garage... I remember discussing with them about it (last clutch got changed 6k miles and ~13 months previously). They said they only use approved parts which came with a 2year warrenty.AdrianC said:

I may be wrong with the technicalities just repeating what I was told.
This isn't the issue however already been told they have the replacement part, it's the work fitting it0 -
So I checked to see if member of any trade organisations, they're not but part of a voluntary scheme. They'll only step in after two weeks... Have contacted and asked as wider issue been going on longer, just the latest...
Looks like without transport for another week 😭0 -
So that will be the parts manufactures warranty.. NOT a garage warranty.Blowsbubbles said:

Either way, they will do paid customers work 1st. Yours is costing them.Life in the slow lane0 -
Yes exactly, so I have to wait 2 weeks now for a replacement clutch as first was faulty, as already paid and keep getting bumped to back of queue. Pretty crap 😭born_again said:Blowsbubbles said:

So they might have to take the parts out, send to the company for warranty approval and new parts to be sent out before they can start.Blowsbubbles said:
