Has anyone ever found a comfortable bra?

Great suggestion @Silvertabby, thanks for that. For me, it's the cup size that's the issue, I'm a fairly 'normal' back size. I'd never heard of The Big Bloomers Company and they don't come up when searching for either sleep bras or plus size bras. I'll be emailing them to suggest they could be missing potential markets by not being included in those searches.
I think I may be starting a crusade! 😀1 -
Another vote for Boob or Bust - if you use Facebook check their FB page. They give very clear advice how to measure yourself for a perfect fit - I've never had a bra so comfy. They also advise which brands/companies to avoid - of which M&S is a clear winner (to avoid) - it appears their fitting service is atrocious, they use the +4 method (see below for an explanation) and fit you into bras that they stock rather than the size you should be.The +4 method is measuring you then adding 4 inches to the band, so say you measured 34E they would put you in a 38E bra, four inches bigger. Another way of looking at it is, if your waist measures 30 inches, would you buy jeans/trousers/skirts in a 34 inch waist size - no, so why would you in a bra?I really recommend Boob or Bust, if you've not looked before then do so now, you won't be idsappointed.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
What is a comfy bra ?
I'm a 36G/H depending on the cup and shape of the bra.
I've been fitted in marks who had me at a 42C - The bra was swinging off me with no support.
Madame Fona - She fitted me correctly as my size now
Bravissamo - Fitted me correctly
John Lewis - I had 3 ladies fit me in there and all got different sizesBut tbf they were really lovely and we had a laugh over i:D
BOB - I got the same size as Bravis and Madame Fona (she's an independent in Liverpool)
In the house I wear the seamless ones for cleaning etc, If I need to venture in public I wear a bra and no matter how well fitted they are they are all still not comfy.
The best part of the day is when you get home and that bra comes off and you launch it on the couch0 -

Bravissimo are brilliant if you are more endowed. They don't normally measure but they check by eye. If you can get into a store, their staff are lovely and very patient. Their mail order is excellent if you can't get in to a store. They stock non-underwire and sports bras as well as wired ones.
My DDs whilst less endowed than me still require a C cup or bigger. DD1 used to use Boux Avenue and Victoria's Secrets but they didn't stock back size 28 - she is petite. Again Bravissimo came up trumps.
M&S are utterly useless if you require a larger cup size. They try to squash your tissue into their bras and they don't stock larger cup sizes. I gave up using them years ago but took DD2 when she was around 14. It was obvious that the fitter was clueless so we gave up and next time we were near a Bravissimo, she went there.0 -
I dread to think how much money I must have spent (and wasted) over the years on bras. As a well endowed lady who is also on the large side generally, it's a minefield. I HAVE to have underwiring, I've never found anything non wired that provides even a modicum of the support I need.
What I have found so often is that a bra feels fine when you try it on. You buy it, but the first time you wear it, after a couple of hours it's digging in in all the wrong places, you can't wait to get it off, and never wear it again.
The only bras I buy now are Elomi. They are definitely the most comfortable I've found, particularly the Energise sports bras. Not particularly pretty, but very supportive and comfy, which is all I care about for day to day wear.1
