oh my word.. my hayfever is so bad this morning.. I think my nose is going to sneeze right off!
Dot having a very Dot-day.. won't eat, won't get dressed, screams the house down while having hair brushed, needs to loo as a delay tactic as she is supposed to be walking out of the door.. picked her legs so they are bleeding, chewed her fingers, found a reason to not wear trousers, the second pair had a large hole she ate in them last time she wore them... I need a day off!

Yesterday didn't go to plan as ended up in a non-fault accident on my way to work. I'm fine but my car is currently getting assessed (hopefully it's not as bad as it looks).
My list for today:- Catch up with emails (300+ need to be sorted through)
- Deal with the car recovery truck when it arrives
- Open windows to let air in
- Put food out for the birds
- Order embroidered uniform for going back to school
- Phone council regarding bins not getting emptied again (a month since our bins were emptied).
- Spend an hour looking for freelance work
- Work out how to get to/from work this weekend (I get a courtesy car but not until Monday)
- Tidy the pile at the side of the bed
- Review the budget to reflect the impact of yesterday's events.

Good afternoon 😊
I had a productive day yesterday. As well as the paid stuff I managed to do several bits of work admin & paperwork, WMx1 line dried, empty DW, cut the grass & fill the compost bin. That doesn't look like much now, but I was pleased with myself 😁 Oh yes, I did the shredding & vac'd the LR as well.
Today is also paid stuff. Baby has just woken up, so I may put the buggy in the cupboard under the stairs as I am off next week. We are away to Derbyshire with my mum, mil & sil. I am finding it hard to get excited about it tbh, I don't know why. Maybe its because I feel that there is so much here to do!! 😭 I am beginning to think that I have missed the boat as far as allotment crops are concerned this year 😥 Nothing seems to be thriving, except the weeds! Maybe I should plan the winter crops instead and forget about squashes, beans & the rest!
New windows for the bedroom (3 misted units) booked in for Monday week. I need to phone the plasterer to book him in too.
Flying today consists of WMx1 hung out, DW emptied & dog walked. Thats about it!
YL & DM I hope your DSs settle in quickly to their new digs.
MMM I hope its good news for the car, and take it easy - you have had a shock.
Kaz, Fayolle - hugs to you both.

Kaz, A computer shop can replace the screen for you, not sure of cost etc as it varies depending on the screen required. You can purchase a replacement screen and DIY, loads of youtube videos on how to do it.
Flylady tasks today were cleaning the bathroom as i'm avoiding going outside, silly me got sunburnt yesterday, it was cloudy when i left so didn't put sun cream onRead that cooled black tea can help take the heat out, it seems to have helped

Not sure what to make of that, Kaz. Why does kit always start playing up when we are most in need of calm in our lives? I hope you find someone quickly who can sort it out for you.Thank you for the details about your cat's return MMM. Good on the elderly lady's son for doing the right thing by the cat after she died, and hurrah it for microchips! My pleasure, Valli. If anyone needs an apricot jam recipe - the weight of the apricots in sugar and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice per 450/500g of apricots. Simmer the apricots for 20 minutes in 10% of their own weight of water with the lemon juice, and then squash them down a bit with a pototo masher before adding the sugar. When the sugar's all melded in, boil to setting point - 105° if you have a thermometer - which took 25 minutes with my first few batches and 35 minutes with these later batches because they're riper. This second lot of jam is slightly darker, slightly caramelly and sticky, but tastes just as scrumptious.Heavy rain forecast here for tomorrow so laundry has been shuffled once again. I'm still working my way through the musty bedding from the attic and have come to the conclusion that with natural fabrics vinegar is the answer. Belovéd has an army blanket that was his father's in his WW2 army days and although it lives in the attic and he rarely sees it, it is very much loved. It's the softest wool I think I've ever come across, and very heavy. It was rank when I got it out of the attic, ran it through the WM at 20° with plenty of vinegar in both the main wash dispenser and conditioner drawer, and it's been on the line for 24 hours. It's 100% absolutely fine. That was far more effective than washing the other wool blanket with a biological powder before drying it and then putting it through a vinegar wash.
Better is good enough.11 -

I also think i might have misread your post, GI - putting the baby in the buggy under the stairs while you go away…ah no, just the empty buggy.
Busy, busy at work for 9 hours. Wm x 1 done before I left, and dried outside all day. Dinner cooked etc, WULTD. DH has gone to have a beer in NDN’s garden, so just me and DD for the evening.Hugs all round xx9 -
Going to try a local repair shop tomorrow. My spuds have failed, BUT the rhubarb is running wild, picked a load earlier, cut , blanched etc and in the freezer for later on in the year.Breast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Hi all
So most of today seems to have been spent pulling camping stuff out from the cupboard under the stairs and putting it into the car, squeezing sleeping bags and bedding into vacuum bags, dropping the dog off at my parents, and calling at the shop for a few essentials. Oh I did manage a few hours paid stuff too. I have always loved camping but the hassle of needing to take all this stuff and stressing about cramming it all into the car really did not get me in the holiday mood today. I think we may be putting the tent up in the rain tomorrow, but it will be a much needed break and I am determined to relax and enjoy it.
I have hoovered around, but that's about it as far as flying is concerned.10 -
Evening lovelies.
Not a lot has been going on here at Chez Natty's apart from me sleeping a lot, over the past couple of days, and dripping with sweat every time I move. I'm sitting here at the moment with two fans and the air con on me and I'm still sweating.
And guess what? I've had to do a Covid test. So that went in the post this morning. Hoping it's negative but my SW consultant won't let me at the next meeting till I've got a negative result, and 111 advised to get the Covid test. Wouldn't care but I'm double vaccinated and really haven't been anywhere apart from SW.
So I'm not a happy bunny at the moment, plus I feel carpe anyway. And noticed today that I can't smell things very well which is a weird and horrible feeling. Can't even do anything as ittotally knocks me out. Poor Dave has been rallying around doing the cooking and hoovering and helping keep things under control.
The dog won't leave me alone either, he gets off the sofa does what he needs to do in the garden and then straight back on the sofa getting as close to me as possible. And when I went and slept upstairs, just to get away from the dog, he blooming followed me..lol
Fingers crossed that my test comes back negative 🙂 But until then I'm in isolation and I think Dave has to isolate too.
