Struggling to get overpayment made in error back from AMEX

If I could easily just forget £900 I might but sadly I can't. Also, why should they benefit from this, grrr.Roland_Sausage said:You’d probably be easier just using the card to pay for groceries, petrol and everything you can until the £900 is spent.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Thanks, I've had an email stating my complaint is being looked into, that's it so far !funkycredit said:
Good luck! Worked fine for me when they hit me with the financial review. Keep us updated with progress.!!!!!!_here said:
Having today received a second letter telling me what I have done wrong I have now used that email address. Let's see what happens now, thanks for the address.funkycredit said:Here's a direct email to the execs office at Amex. Try that - you'll usually get a UK based manager respond if you leave your phone number too - theexecutiveoffice@aexp.com

Weekly Update - no 1, hopefully not of many.
Basically, no progress.
The email mentioned above includes:- If possible, we will strive to resolve the matter within 3 working days from the date we receive your complaint. If your complaint is resolved within this timeframe, we will send you a Summary Resolution Communication, informing you of your right to refer your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
But the only thing that matters to me - simply getting the overpayment refunded - has still not happened.
Is there anyone from AMEX who monitors these forums ? If so, please help.

I've always found Amex very easy to get a credit refund from. One call, and they action it in about a week. Same with transferring credit to another Amex card.
Which bank are you trying to refund it to?0 -
Lloyds - the one I pay them from easily enough.chistery said:I've always found Amex very easy to get a credit refund from. One call, and they action it in about a week. Same with transferring credit to another Amex card.

I am not a twitter user but that might be an option - bad publicity often gets a result. I had success using Facebook for something along the same lines.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans

Good news of sorts finally. They have partially upheld my complaint and credited my account with £100. The less positive aspect is that I now have an extra £100 which has not been returned to me.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. That’s been a month. You could have spent half of that balance by now.0

To bring this unhappy scenario to a conclusion: I've now spent most of the credit balance, and the £100 compensation has been paid into my bank account. I will be closing my account very soon, this has been horrific.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
