As debitcardmayhem requested, we can better help if you provide proper specs.Meanwhile, type into search msconfig, run as admin, go to startup and disable anything not vital.

Run MSConfig and look through the apps & services that run at start-up, and use that as a basis for deselecting ones that you know you don't want to run at start-up. It's also handy to identify junk that's been installed with the OS that you could happily uninstall and not miss.
Don't just uncheck or delete the lot will-nilly, if you don't recognise it Google it to see what it's doing. And do one or two then reboot rather than a lot all at once.
It does sound like something more is going on, there's not much junk that adds minutes to a bootup. As a guide, my W10 on an SSD is ready inside about 30 seconds, and that's a bit slower than when it was first installed as a fresh clean OS.1 -
As per an earlier reply, Startup tasks are accessed via Task Manager now not msconfig.Username03725 said:Run MSConfig and look through the apps & services that run at start-up
(Although I'm pretty sure legacy msconfig still works). Jenni x1 -

A voice of sanity at last.

Rather than being condescending, why not explain what you mean? 🙄Jenni x1

Okay, but if they took a screenshot of all the startup items and posted here we could advise which ones to disable, couldn't we? Even better, if they installed Glary Utilities it has amongst its tools an option to enable/disable startup items and gives a description of each. To be honest all you need at startup is the AV but if you're using Defender it won't be listed.arciere said:
Not the best advice to give to someone that doesn't even know what type of disk they have.Laz123 said:Meanwhile, type into search msconfig, run as admin, go to startup and disable anything not vital.
