    It's Anglian, not Anglican.

A google search of 'composite fire doors for flats' seems to bring up a wide selection of FD30 fire rated door suppliers. I know nothing about fire regs for flat doors but I'm guessing this is what you're looking for?
    found two advertised companies,1st quote went from1200 to 3k, 2ndcompany 2.9 or 3kapprox.
Both citing fire rules for property's that lead to common exit area/ new fire standard rules.

I'll re check next year to establish if costs stabilise.

    thanks

Found a place for the door which . need letter box cut etc

Zero response  via  checkatrade and rated people.

Cause of my 4rth floor flat position, its now deemed not financially viable work whist these rules are being re checked.

    thanks

It's already been said, you shouldn't cut a letter box in a fire door as it completely defeats the point of the fire door.

You can, they are called intumescent letterboxes.

They have a liner which expands in a fire and seals the letterbox.

I would expect any joiner who installs fire doors would be aware of these.

Poor choice of words on my part, I was trying to keep it simple.

The projects I'm working on have required certified fire door sets, due to recent changes to fire regs after Grenfell. That means the door, frame and seals have to be tested as one - you can't then amend any part of it (ie trim the door, cut a letterbox etc) as it then doesn't conform with the tested product. I would expect the same in a 4-storey apartment block.

The quote to get bespoke fire testing on the projects was huge, so they've had to make the door opening slightly larger to suit a standard fire door.

    thanks mser's

I've had Zero luck finding such joiner, I've often had 100% success seeking various indoors tradesmen online.
As comicgeek mentions I've been advised similar rules apply above 2 floors for doors which lead to common area (one flat next door and 4 flats each level)

I found a quote for fire rated door only its a block of wood, and cannot get joiner response, though I advertised the job as remove old door and cut and install new  door.

its seems i might have to go 3k supply and install, though not until next year, still waiting windows to be installed.

    thanks

    Making potential real progress, hopefully.
    Verbal quote 1.9K approx.
    Supply+Install 30 minute fire door.

Only to decide which finance option to use.
    2022 is estimated date.

    thanks
