Thinking of signing up with Plusnet 10MB. Will update if 10MB is too weak. There is no admin charge for this.
Any views before I sign on the dotted line? Thanks

Why stop at 10Mb? Is fibre/FTTC not available to you?

Neil, I have a BT phoneline. Plusnet10mb is just £13 per month, and I am single household. I presume the 10mb still comes down the phoneline. Thought I might try it and if not, then upgrade. Please advise.0

Is that £13 for the internet on its own or does that include line rental? How fas is your current internet?1

Ookla says 25.190

Neil. I read providers have to include landline rental in their main price heading.0

Strange. This also happens with booking flights. Search again later on and can't find the same deal anywhere.1

Now found the price is a little higher. It is £18.50 per month with a £50 reward card. Equals £14.33. Why do they do that? Why do they charge you £50 extra and then give it back? Is it something to do with holding the money for a short while to gain interest on it before sending it back? Can't think of any other reason.0

assuming the speed test was done wired and you have a 25mbps download speed, why do you even want to go back to a 10Mb package? Or am I missing something? The reward card thing is just an incentive to encourage sign-ups. They don't charge you £50 extra at all, the calculations assume you spread that £50 over the life of the contract and treat it as if it were cashback. You'll still be paying £18.50 a month, the £14.33 is the effective rate, not what you'll pay.1

Yes, Neil, you are missing the full story. Three of us were here and set up with an approx £50 sky package. Two have moved out and the Sky package is about to expire. On my own here, so going over to freeview and I don't stream films or play games. Web search mainly. A few YouTube clips. Buy on line. Word document. Email. I have a mobile package which costs £6 per month. So I am looking for something cheap which means less MBs. Got a couple of weeks to sort out what to do. Not ever researched this sort of stuff, and it's a minefield out there and even with GoCompare is impossible to compare.0

Do be aware that your Sky package does not stop working, all that means is that your minimum term/deal/offer expires. It doesn't mean the broadband will suddenly pack up on the 29th of whatever it is..If you've been happy with Sky You may be able to get a deal for the same price (with the faster internet as well) for what you've been quoted for the 10Mb product which will be better value. You can just cancel the TV portion of it with Sky, assuming you have that - remember its 31 days notice for TV and if you have Sky Q you have to send the equipment back.Speak to Sky and say my deal is due to expire on <whatever date>, I no longer need the TV. Plusnet will do me internet for £18.50 but I'd rather stay with you,. what can you do for me?1
