The property I am interested in was taken off the market. What is to be my next step?

I've had my eye on a property that has been on and off the market since February 2019, marketed by different real estate agents.
There is a (unilateral) charging order on the property which is of no concern to me since a plan on paying cash.
Word on the street is the owner fled to Russia (or at least wants us to think he did)
The last agent to list the property took it off the market several weeks ago.
It is not marked as sold.
I am thinking it is too early to check the Land Registry to see if it was in fact sold.
What would be the wisest thing to?
Should I wait until the property re-lists?
Should I contact the last agent that marketed it?
Should I contact the agent that first listed it?
I've had no luck contacting the owner so far.

Contact the last agent and ask. They may not tell you much but it’s a start. Land Registry details take up to 6 months to appear on portals showing if it’s sold.1

I've always found estate agents quite open with information in that situation. Give them a ring and they'll probably let you know what your options are and if there's any chance of getting the house.

Why does your paying cash mean that you don't care about a charging order? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?4 -
Unless you ring the EA you'll never know. No one on here is going to be able to help.0

It is difficult to mortgage a property with a charging order on it.

I'm struggling to understand why the charge won't be paid off when the property is sold, in which case it would be mortgageable. That's what charging orders are for.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1 -

Could it be that the house can't be sold unless the charge has been removed?0

Do you really think that you are the only cash buyer around? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
