Aww thanks @boxofpaws My ramblings are somewhat boring I’m sure but they’re generally pretty open and honest if nothing else :)

I applied for the card anyway and was accepted so will wait to see what the limit is and move what I can over.

Felt ropey all day and tested positive for Covid this evening which is a bit of a pain, so late into my pregnancy. Will call the midwifes tomorrow to see if I need to do anything specific or not. It’s taken 2 years to get it and so I can’t really complain but I have felt rough today :(

Oh no to the covid.  I hope your symptoms are mild, just to add to your reflux and back problems.
I overpaid my last ever loan - each overpayment generated a letter which showed how much interest I'd saved - so motivating and eye opening too.
sounds like you do ok with olio - I've been very fortunate over the last few weeks.  Makes me more innovative with my menus too. I got hot cross buns today which I've frozen and will use for a Easter bread and butter pudding at the weekend.

Thanks @Blackcats it’s pretty crappy timing like you say with suffering otherwise so hoping it’s just mild. Woken up not feeling quite as rough today but it’ll be the day that wears me down before feeling pants around the evening I think.

Yes I’d really like to overpay the loan. Hub and I have discussed future plans a lot over the weekend and whilst we’re not 100% on moving in 2 years (we’ve lived here for 4 now and only just got things looking how we want so to only enjoy it for 2 years seems silly; amongst other things) ive stressed that it’s important for us to be in a position to have options. That means still having got the loan cleared, so if the house of our dreams came up we would be in a position to buy it.

Olio has been good, the chocolate pots are still going strong but I’m surprised at how little bakery items have been coming up recently.  They used to fill my freezer every week!

Santander card offers a decent limit to clear a good chunk and if I did nothing else,  would reduce the remaining term by 12 months. That’s obviously not the idea but in transferring a proportion to the CC it’ll save £500+ of interest which is just great. What I hope is that providers of cards I hold now with nothing on them, put some 0% offers on too, without a fee so that I can do similar and save a little more interest again.

I’ve explained the process to hub by drawing diagrams so he gets it and whilst is fully on board, it’ll be the reality of doing it that narks him I’m sure.

It’s all managed by me of course but we’ve been being more frugal and ‘tighter’ with money for some time now as we’ve had life events which have meant we’ve had to be like that, else we’d end up with even bigger problems and I know he needs a bit of laxity every now and again so feel I need to plan that in too to keep him on track (and therefore me).

Awaiting the number for logging on to the card being sent so I can make the necessary movements.

Does anyone know if there are better days to pay credit cards/loans or not when overpaying? Like is it better to make a payment just after the interest was calculated that month or to do it just before it’s calculated. If just before is this because then the overpayment is also factored in or isn’t it as generous as that?

I think it is just better to pay as soon as you can because interest is calculated on a daily basis but reported as a snapshot in time, so there is no benefit in waiting

Code arrived to sort the Santander card but haven’t got around to it yet.

It was my day for having my daughter today (usually working but school holidays means hub and 1 take a day each and MiL does 2 days) so we went to a local working farm.

Its £4 for an adult and £2 for a bag of feed for the animals and we had a lovely couple of hours. We took a packed lunch of cheese sandwiches, leftover YS (very tasty!) humous and carrot sticks, a wrinkly satsuma, the last chunk of blondie (for me) and enjoyed that instead of a spendy lunch. I was tempted by tea but most definitely couldve taken my own and the only reason I didn’t as It’s hard worn to keep up with bathroom breaks now I’m so pregnant.

We then waked the dog around the local NT park for well over an hour and I really took it in, enjoyed the P&Q whilst my daughter slept. Feeling very relaxed now considering the farm wasn’t so calming!

Need to add Monthly NT to the budget but at £10.60 I can’t really complain!

@MissRikkiC - if you join Scottish NT it's only £7.30 a month and you can still use all the English NT places including parking!  Only thing is the magazine is about Scottish NT places.  You'll need to use the website to find English NT places.
