I don't have easy access to pipes to install that hence I was thinking about those blanking nuts. Can I just confirm these is what I need to cap shower pipes and still be able to run water in the bathroom?
I will run checks suggested by grumbler over the weekend and report back.
Many thanks for all help so far.0 -

Am I right thinking I would need below to cap water from pipes in case if I need to remove whole shower if I can't fit cartridge again?
https://www.screwfix.com/p/compression-blanking-nut-15mm/55441To use 15 you'll have to remove the cylindrical brass part with thread.ETA: even more likely it's a BSP (1/2' ?) nut, not a compression nut

Just to close the thread. It was cartridge in the end. Thanks to everyone on this thread I was able to change it myself. Bristan also sent me one FOC under warranty. It was a suggestion to claim from them on this thread as I was thinking it is not included a was prepared to buy new one. All in all I think I saved about £140 so thank you.1
