    In terms of claiming for costs I would view the following as claimable;

-Council tax for your new property for that period which will be minimal
Nope, because the OP was always retaining the rental property, so there's no extra liability.
-Utilities from when you completed to when she vacated (you would have needed meter readings for this, the EA may have taken them on completion) again minimal
The readings should be done on move-in anyway, so no difference there.
-Removal of 'junk' perhaps hire a skip and just get rid in one swoop - Anywhere from £100+
A hundred quid for a skip...?!?

Can you put the time machine in it when you're done?
Council tax - The OP is liable from when he completed but someone else is still in the house. Doesn't matter if he has another rental or not.

The OP is not liable for the council tax whilst there is a resident. Only once that resident vacates does the OP become liable for the council tax.
She isn't a resident though. The OP is the official owner of the house from completion, the OP has said she has left the house but not her stuff. So ergo the OP is liable for all bills hence why I said he could claim this but it would be minimal.

Doesn’t council tax run month to month? If so the previous owner has already paid it?
30th June 2021 completely debt free…. Downsized, reduced working hours and living the dream.

No, it's annual, but liability for payment can be apportioned daily.

It's usually paid through the year by ten account payments.

Wasn't intending to replace carpets, but seeing them yesterday think I'll have to
Yesterday I'd estimate there was ~15 skips worth of stuff left.

Just wanted advice in readiness for Monday depending on what state it is in.
If still like this today I would be advising that I was getting a house clearance service in, including garden and would be adding the bill to the growing list

@Blowsbubbles How's the house this morning? All the junk gone???
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

Little update.. Obviously rather busy sorting everything now can get in!!
Last of her stuff went Tuesday (though still a few bits left that I can deal with!!)
    House was absolutely filthy.
Someone (I think a dog) came into garden and knocked paint tubs over, covered lawns/path.
Weirdly (some of the unhired family help) took a few kitchen doors off..
The list goes on and on!
Solicitor advised to keep a journal and receipts and can claim for expenses incurred
