very pleased it was a freebie so what if they sell for £3 elsewhere it was free and Amazon honoured their promise and sent a fridge door filter jug.
Many thanks to the OP and Amazon for honouring the offer

Totally agree at the end of the day it was a freebie, to be entirely honest how many of us that ordered one only did so because of the link! (I did)

It may not be statew of the art, but as long as it does it jon, Amazon have got my vote x
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

mine is now in the fridge.

i got the foreign 'jata' one too....lid loose and instructions hilarious - oh and my display didn't work for ages til i got annoyed and waved it about talking to my partnr then it sprang in to life - for a few secs anyway so when i want to see how filter doing i'll have to wave it about each time - doesn't matter though. it was FREE and amazon did a good thing giving most of us one at all.
plus i've wanted one for a while but could not afford....overall great freebie!!

  • I just looked on amazon and the jata filter jug is for sale priced @ £8.99. anyone else noticed this? Whilst it is a freebie the quality is not what anyone would have expected and certainly not that of russell hobbs.
How many people can actually get this in their fridge? we cant.

Yes its nice to get something like this for free but i wonder how many of us out there would have ordered this model?
  • Got mine on Friday - still in box as will only use it in the summer for cold water from fridge. Free is free so won't be complaining, cheaper than just buying a jug for the fridge anyway!

You have a point. I got the Russell Hobbs one, & my friend got the Jata so-called replacement.

    Mine
    • The lid of mine fits properly.
    • The jug fits in my fridge door properly, so it can be used all year round.
    Hers
    • Her Jata one has a very loose lid, which means water comes out of one side unless she uses her other hand to hold the lid down.
    • It doesn't fit in her fridge door (or mine, so thank goodness I didn't end up with it). Her choices are therefore to either put it under the shelf which has the lift-up section (thus losing considerable space) or just keep it on a work-top, meaning it can't effectively be used for cold filtered water.

If she'd paid for the original & had got the Jata one instead, she'd have returned it for a refund. As it is, she's going to see if Amazon will be getting the original ones back in stock - if so, she's going to ask for that one to be sent. If they're not, she'll be giving the Jata to her brother, who has one of those big American fridges & it fits in there without a problem.

It's a freebie, so fair enough, people are lucky to get something at all. However, it's disappointing when something arrives & then can't be used the way it was intended. :(
  • Got mine, O.K for a freebie, would not have paid £15.00 for it!!
    Replacement cartriges are expensive too!!
