Is this ok for an engagement ring?

Its a beautiful ring, best of luck to you both!0

my ring cost less than £100 20 years ago, even though we are better off financially now and my husband has offered to replace it with something fancier i have never dreamed of letting him.
The price of the ring doesn't matter i love it, i love him and that is all that mattered.
We didn't have a lot of money when we got engaged and i would have been upset with him if he'd put himself in financial trouble to buy a ring.

I bought my own engagement ring (and wedding ring- both of them as original developed a fault) 16 months down the line it’s back in the pawn shop from whence it came and I have a very lovely Diamond from Ernest Jones (guess who bought that... not OH
) I never had a proposal either!
I think it’s really thoughtful and pretty. I’m sure your partner will love it. Congratulations

Don't worry about the cost of the ring. The relationship and intended marriage is what is important. My ring is very unique, very similar to the shape in the picture. All the very best and I hope and know she will say yes!!0

Also remember that the price of diamonds is kept artificially high by the diamond industry limiting supply. Diamonds are not the rarest stone but they are priced as one of the rarest. If you go back 100 years diamonds were not the most popular choice for engagement rings , Diamond industry Marketing has achieved that.gettingtheresometime said:Please remember this 'you should spend a month's salary on the engagement ring' was a marketing ploy by the diamond industry1 -
My husband actually believed he needed to spend a couple of months salary on an engagement ring! Luckily I stopped him and he bought a still expensive but much less so ring.
It really doesn't matter about the ring, if it did you would have reason to be concerned.
I last wore my ring 6 years ago. I took it off while decorating and put it in the safe.
I wish you a wonderful life.0 -
