It's a nice ring, don't doubt yourself.
As for the whole £1k + rings, please do not start comparing yourself or trying to keep up with what others have, it's not worth it.
My OH decided to randomly propose when I was due to go home after a date, grabbed the first round bit of metal in his flat and went down on one knee. The 'ring' was too big, I was allergic to the metal but I wore it with pride. The next date saw another unexpected proposal in the most beautiful setting, with a ring that was very 'me'.
It's not what's stuck on the hand, it's about wanting to spend the rest of your life with that person.

In the Christmas 2016 Call The Midwife - Barbara's ring was a blade a grass. It's not the cost, or how pretty it's a symbol of love and commitment.
It was only after my wife and I got engaged we thought about a ring.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill5 -

Please remember this 'you should spend a month's salary on the engagement ring' was a marketing ploy by the diamond industry9

Very nice ring!I come from a fairly wealthy family as does my OH (of 20 years); I would never want jewellery worth more than £200-£300, if that. You can get very nice pieces, like your ring, no need to get pretentious about things!3

That's stunning! Don't worry about the price of the ring — it is just a ring after all! Your love and effort are what your SO will cherish.0

I'm still waiting for my engagement ring, have been married 12 years. I married my best friend and we are happy, which is priceless to me.
