Would this not a good move - if Citroen were to produce such a lightweight car, with soft suspension for short distance town driving?

Or, if you're somewhere where the weather means a Mehari makes sense...

They both qualify as brand new vehicles, because the lighter weight of the tupperware means a Mehari can just sneak under the Light Quadricycle weight limit, while a steel-bodied 2cv doesn't - 400kg, less batteries. 550kg for commercial vehicles should be doable, but nobody makes new steel 2cv van shells.

Citroen and electrics? I dont see that being a good mix. You would have to use it only in town due to the fear of breaking down1

They were fun to drive though!!Browntoa said:No

I used to drive a Dyane and they were briliant little cars with incredible comfort0 -
A brand new version of the 2CV would not be allowed on the road as it would fail to meet latest safety regulations. There is a two seat electric car Renault Twizy but that gets round the rules by being light enough to be classed as a quadricycle.0

Yes if you need to carry baskets of eggs across ploughed fields, a fairly niche market.3

God, I can't believe these preconceptions still exist....lemondrops69 said:Citroen and electrics? I dont see that being a good mix. You would have to use it only in town due to the fear of breaking down
Their electrics are made by Bosch, same as just about everyone else these days.0
