We live in Bolton and have a self catering holiday booked to Scotland for 18th - 27th June.
Booked through Booking.com sometime last year. I paid using a credit card which went out the account last month.
Does anyone know what our rights are to a refund or reschedule etc.?
Am I correct in thinking we won't be able to go by law from tomorrow (24th May?)

Your rights are dependant on the terms and conditions you booked under. You have a right to a refund if your booking was refundable and do not if it was non-refundable. What are the terms of your booking?

It’s being reviewed weekly so it’s probably a little early to say at the moment whether you will be able to go or not.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Thanks. I guess what I'm really asking then is if this rule is still in place when we're due to travel, will I be entitled to a refund as we wouldn't be unable to access the service we'd paid for?
And if the venue doesn't want to give a refund, would I be able to one via my credit card in this scenario?0 -

Plus we're not choosing to cancel. We still want to go but won't be able to if the travel ban is still in place at the time. That's what I'm trying to ask about.
No travel insurance and the terms of the booking states free cancellation up to 30 days before which unfortunately was about 4 days before Nicola Sturgeon announced the ban .... But again, we're not cancelling.0 -
When did you book it - was it pre or post pandemic?
If it's since covid started, I suspect the best you can hope for is delaying the booking to take another time. I'm not sure your credit card is going to be of any use as that is for when the provider is failing to provide the service agreed. Which they won't be if they are still open. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

It was booked last June/July I think. I'll try and speak with the venue today to find out more. Thanks0

there is a section in the main guide here https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2020/02/coronavirus-travel-help-and-your-rights/
have a read underHolidaying in the UK? Your refund rights
Holiday not cancelled? Your refund rights depend on rules in place at the time of your trip

Although be aware that the CMA guidance is just that - guidance. Not a definitive statement of law.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

It is difficult because it is not because the service is not available, it is because you are restricted from going by a government restriction.
