I got a "Tiger Baton" from the Aldi bakery today.   Seems pretty nice and good VFM at 65p.

I picked up a pack of individual strawberry cheesecakes from the chiller cabinet at Lidl yesterday at 50% off. I wanted a treat and the product exceeded my expectations. Its a nice treat that is just the right serving size although I am not going to pretend it is a healthy choice.

I am sure the Lidl Low GI loaves from the bakery have been made smaller.  I used to get two days' worth of sandwiches out of one loaf (for two people), but I am struggling now.  They made them smaller a while back but I think they have shaved off a bit more.

I occasionally buy this when I am out and about in town and don't want to sink a large quantity of fluids. I know an alcopop isn't the healthiest option but as I stick a re-usable stainless steel straw in it I wasn't actually aware of what the product looks like. Now I do:

Its actually a very fake-looking shade of pink, alarming to me because I am no stranger to sticking a couple of frozen raspberries into my G&T when at home. So although the product tastes ok, its appearance has put me right off buying this again.

A & L now do quite a range of these pre-mix alcoholic drinks.  Aldi even has a party pack of cans of various cocktails.

Most of them are around 3-4% ABV, usually quite sweet, but quite pleasant drinks when well chilled.  The Aldi Passionfruit Martini is very nice.   Also the Peach on the Beach.    Mostly around 99p for a small can.  The Party pack is £7.99 for 10 cans, I think.

Aldi also has some beefier drinks with higher alcohol content under the brand Infusionist or "In".  These can be more expensive, and more delicious.

Multigrain Loaf from Aldi Bakery this week.   This is some serious bread - soft wholemeal dough with grains and a crunchy, crisp crust covered in toasted grains and seeds.

    Very good VFM at £1.29.
That's the thing - looks healthy but if the Chorleywood method is used, its UPF. For me bread was the hardest thing to cut back on and what I found to be a nice product a in the past now just doesn't taste right.

Pretty much all supermarket bread is UPF.

I've drastically cut the amount of UPF I consume, realistically supermarket bread isn't something I'm going to exclude.

Personally I love Aldi Malted Bloomer (pre packed), it is white based but something I can eat within the context of my white bread intolerance 👍🏻

Lidl & Iceland also do a Malted Bloomer but the Aldi is my favourite 🍞

Lidl fresh bakery ancient grain roll is another favourite.

I get the Lidl Lavish shower gels for £1.99, they're a good dupe for the Lush ones which cost £7
