In Lidl today I found KTC creamed coconut blocks for 89p first time I’ve seen them stock it and 11p cheaper than my local Asian store.1

We have a little Sain's here. It seems to have gone downhill even in the few months we've been here. It feels like a cheapo shop where no-one cares. Mucky floors and the odd light out. Dear too! Perhaps it's on the closure list...I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1

So much to read, so little time.1 -
They're always advertising for staff, can't remember if they want a general manager though. I'll have to go look when I'm out.I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1

Cheese thins are back after a long absence at Lidl...Unfortunately at a much higher price of £0.99.
I personally think they are better than the branded alternative, now not that much cheaper though.1 -

I've now tried several of my Sainsbury's purchases and can give a verdict on how good a buy the Aldi alternative is.
- Aldi Breaded Ham Slices vs. J.James (JS) Breaded Ham Slices. These look virtually identical to each other, but the very first serving of JS version had a piece of bone or gristle in it, which I've never had from Aldi's product. Although the price/quantity is the same, the Aldi product is the better buy.
- Aldi "Savour Bake" Thins Multi-seed - these have always been a good buy, being virtually identical to the branded Ryvita product. Aldi price £1.05, JS price for Ryvita version, £2.20. (Aldi also have the Ryvita version as a special buy at £1.25).

I regularly buy the ham offcuts from Aldi. Obviously they vary in size. This week I had particularly large slices of smoked ham. Similarly, they do chicken and occasionally beef.
Unfortunately the offcuts don't keep as well as the breaded ham slices @Cornucopia but worth a look if you have a plan to eat them quickly.3 -
- Aldi Vanilla Wafers (Ice Cream) vs. JS Dark Chocolate Choc Ices. 8 x 90ml (Aldi) for £1.59, 6 x 70ml (JS) for £1.50. These are not quite identical, but the Aldi product is a far better buy - cheaper per item, proper chocolate vs. chocolate flavour, and overall has a more up-market, quality appearance.
- Aldi (Brooklea) Natural Yogurt vs. Mary Ann's Dairy (JS) - both 60p for 500g. They are both tasty enough, but the JS version is very, very thin. Aldi is the better buy.3
