Sorry OP, but it sounds like you might just have to get it sold by whatever means possible. Its still money in your pocket that you didn't have before. Try to think of it that way.
As a renter by choice who cares about my home and generally has a good relationship with my landlords, it always strikes me as fairly insulting when people imply that 'renters' are happy to live in an abject shithole that nobody else wants.
And especially considering the price of a decent rental - often a fair bit more than most folks mortgage repayments each month!3 -

I haven't read much here, so apologies if this has already been discussed, but instead of selling your dad's house how about you buy the neighbours' house, clean it up and THEN eventually sell both properties?
