I don't know of any couple that share a phone. Almost everyone has their own phone these days, although of course there are always exceptions. Can you imagine the atmosphere in their house this evening, knowing they were within touching distance of £126,000.The Presenter did say they would call back later to make sure they were okay - I doubt though that they were!1

I'm sure that in the past there have been instances where a partner answered the phone, gave the correct amount and won. Every new instance of these competitions may indeed have new rules, or rules that are more strictly enforced by different presenters. But that is really tough - personally I would perhaps have said that Annette was changing the baby or something, could you please hang on......Zinger549 said:Call was answered within 5 rings today and a man answered. Hattie asked for his name and he gave a women's name. He then handed the phone to a lady called Annette. Call was then terminated as the rules state you have to answer your own phone within 5 rings.I assume Annette entered the competition.3 -

He answered hello, Hattie said she was calling from Cash Register
and asked his name but he said her (wife's) full name,
then passed the phone to his wife.
Sounded like an elderly couple (sorry if you're not) They're going to check that both are ok.

If they allowed a caller to win who had broken the T&Cs then they would need to refund all the paid for entries including all the rolled over ones for todays competition.pate-ci0 said:

I read a news story about Scottish cash register, where a lady was driving and her female partner answered 'hands free' and lost £50,000.....She could've got away with it if she'd not been honest.

It's a lot fairer than the itv competitions which were changed from free online entries to postal in order to make the free route no longer possible4

Postal entry counts as free entry as there is no charge on top of normal postage feeEtccarmageddon said:It's a lot fairer than the itv competitions which were changed from free online entries to postal in order to make the free route no longer possible

I entered and my partner answered the phone and spoke to the presenter he then handed me the phone to quote the amount which l won but that was about 4 years ago.4

it their mind it counts as free! I think you're missing the point anyway, it costs postage whereas these don't. Really don't understand the point of your comment other than to show they used a technicality to call it free.mjm3346 said:
