 it their mind it counts as free!  I think you're missing the point anyway, it costs postage whereas these don't.   Really don't understand the point of your comment other than to show they used a technicality to call it free.

the point was they are following the rules laid down that count it as free it is not any special interpretation of the rules

I entered and my partner answered the phone and  spoke to the presenter he then handed me the phone to quote the amount which l won but that was about 4 years ago. 

The used to run competitions that did not require the phone to be answered within a certain number of rings and they would call back on more than 1 occasion if necessary

No they dont always have a guaranteed winner, but when they do this will be announced.

Where there has not been a winner, there will be a rollover and we reserve the right to announce a new Prize for the next Draw. The Prize will not be lower than the Prize for the previous Draw. All entries from the completed Draw, and any previous Draws, where no winner was declared, will automatically be eligible for the next Draw. Entrants do not need to enter again in order to be eligible but are able to do so if they would like to increase their chances.

We reserve the right to guarantee a winner for a Draw. This will be clearly communicated on air throughout the Entry Period of that Draw. Where a winner is guaranteed, if the first entrant chosen to play is not declared the winner, another entrant will be drawn at random and asked to play. This process will continue until a winner is declared.

Tuesday- 4 rings lady answers hello, presenter today’s cash register call, lady shocked asks is it a joke, presenter not a joke, lady understands. 

  Presenter asks lady for amount, must be exact amount. Lady gives £127,000 says I want to cry. Presenter asks lady rest of 2022 if bagged money, lady had hardest year no idea, think she said either had or awaiting surgery think she said on back. tell me it is a joke. Presenter 2022 has got a whole lot better you have just won £127,000, lady I can’t believe it calls for someone he comes to the phone and says (lady is his wife so he must be the husband) Husband is aware of cash register says oh gosh better be nice to her, oh thank you

Thursday- 3 rings lady answers hello, presenter today’s casg register call, ask very important  question. Lady says thinks so is ready, presented how much think she said in cash register, exact, lady gives £129,000. 

  Presenter asks lady rest of 2022 if win, lady would be massive, help kids on property ladder, recovering from think said operation and a holiday be nice, think said share win news with husband first, we don’t have much luck. Presenter your luck has just changed you have just won £129,000, lady thank you so much, think said no idea difference it will make. Lady says husband think she said is saying what have you done, she can be heard saying just won £129,000. Lady says husband is walking around house saying this does not happen to us and her husband is saying can I put the hearing on, presenter says over the moon for lady and lady replies thank you. 
  Presenter announces Friday’s amount - £130,000
  presenter after playing a few songs said lady had a back operation.
