Just people don't agree with you, so you think they're attacking you.
That isn't the case here.2 -

There are many people who have been getting food deliveries for years without the bags, simply transferring from the store crates to their own.
It's only now that supermarkets no longer supply bags that customers who couldn't be persuaded by concern for the environment or cost are finally in the fold.
I have wondered for years if there was an option for people buying the crates, where they are swapped and collected next time would work. When they were finally returned they would be credited, a bit like calor gas bottles
The crates are around £8 each online, so less for ASDA, would customers be prepared to pay £8 per crate?
I suspect not and we all know that if the crates were free loaned they would simply disappear.

I then take my time (sitting) with a grabber loading everything onto a lovely trolley I recently bought (which is used for a lot more than groceries, worth its weight in gold) and push it to the kitchen.
Yes I would pay for a crate if it were practical but it isn't. Wouldn't most people need rather more than one anyway? Storage could also be a problem for some people.0 -
I can understand that when bags were discontinued that OP got used to crates and would like that option but it's hardly nastiness to suggest options as renting/buying trays isn't an option .
I'm not a regular online shopper but when I do, I'm happy to put bags or boxes on the doorstep which the driver fills and I take in when he's finished.
The only people who are really inconvenienced IMO are those with disabilities who had a friendly driver who would bring shopping right into the house which hasn't been allowed since Covid. I'd be surprised if that returns as it's time (and therefore money) consuming.1 -
Can I clarify that I have already explained the term nastiness referring to a comment that I have highlighted earlier. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/78510961/#Comment_78510961 On the whole comments have been helpful but this comment that you have referred to was some time before most other comments5KW solar, Lux 3.8KW inverter, Uhome 2400 LPF x 6, SOLIC 200 immerser diverter, Leaf 62Kwh, MG ZSev, Ohme home charger, Zappi v2.1, Import: Octopus intelligent ; Export: Octopus Energy Export, 15KW biomass pellet boiler - Windhager., Home Assistant (newbie)0

We have a large trolley similar to this one:It holds all the delivery items and delivery drivers are happy to put the items in it for us. If a store insists on handing over the large baskets then they can put them in the trolley, we can wheel it indoors, unpack onto the floor and return the basket. Handy also as we can easily wheel the trolley inside our property to save lugging the items about.
