Always like to have an alternative bank account & credit / debit card.

^^ This is why it’s important to have a backup.

Hate when a bank is having problems as customers blame US for it!
    Who is us?
    Me and my colleagues
    So are you Santander IT?

There’s a man on the news saying because of this, he’s changing banks. Erm every bank has had a tech problem every few years
There is always someone that has to be a drama queen .... did he run about asking 'Who is thinking of the children"

It's actually not funny. Saturday is for many people the day they do their weekly food shop. Go on Twitter and read what people are saying - some are still waiting for money that has been sent to them, some had their shopping charged on their card but then it got declined and they need to wait until it resolves itself in a few days time, some couldn't get petrol to go to their job or to pick up their children etc etc etc.

People without an alternative method of payment are up the creek without a paddle.

Dependence on technology being available 24/7 is truly frightening.  One day when the power goes off. There'll be a complete meltdown.

Non as you have millions and clearly don’t need any compensation!!

While it might be amusing to you, there will be people who another poster has pointed out can’t pay for their weekly food shop or travel to work as their debit cards aren’t working and ATM’s to withdraw cash are being hit and miss.

While a few Mse’rs myself included have other accounts or alternative payment options with banks with emergency funds in for when this kind of thing happens, a large number of people do not. Meaning they have no other way of accessing their money/ paying for anything until it’s sorted.

Remember the TSB fiasco when they upgraded there system and how many weeks that took to sort out and how many people were without funds until it was fixed!?!

A little compassion would be helpful, rather than the “I’m alright Jack, so it doesn’t matter or effect me). attitude!!
Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both.

My parents suffered at the hands of this incompetent buch of cowboys a few weeks ago. Needless to say the are moving to First Direct. How anyone can continue to have any trust in this bank is beyond me. I feel sorry for the staff, they are being badly let down by the clowns at the top. I fully expect there to be a major news scandal about how this bank is bein run/misrun.
