No such word as 'Firstly', either ;)

Secondly, I think you will find there is :o

To the OP, I think the right choice is refund and ask for IBAN payment .

Firstly, because they don’t know themselves.

    Secondly, etc..

I certainly won't post the item to her now and will just return the payment - informing her i cannot post outside the UK.

scorpio13 there is a much safer and cheaper way of getting paid by customers in the Republic of Ireland (Eire) than PayPal. Anyone in the Eurozone can send you a international bank transfer for free (or low cost) which will usually cost you nothing* to receive on the UK end. (See EU/EEA directive 2560/2001 or ask your bank for details.) Note that the transfer must be in Euros (so convert the £ total), using your BIC + IBAN details (on your UK bank statements) with Shared costs selected. Most such transfers take between a few hours to several business days to be credited to your UK bank account.

It's better than PayPal in that there is less risk to sellers (no unconfirmed 'item not received', 'significantly not as described' or 'fraudulent funds' disputes) and zero fees to pay. Also no 10-day lag for the funds to be transferred from PayPal to your bank account (minus hefty PayPal fees).

It's always advisable to get proof of shipment/delivery and optional insurance for higher value items to protect against 'item not received' complaints, loss or breakages, etc.

*NatWest/RBS levy a £1 fee for an "incoming payment" notification letter (which you can opt out of).

What also bugs me, is that she still managed to bid when i stated i only post within the UK!

I'm also baffled as to why she thought i'd post the jacket to her for £3?!

I'm not sure i could post a CD to Dublin for £3, let alone a heavy Leather Jacket!:rotfl:

:rotfl: I agree. Who would think a leather jacket would cost £3? They're so heavy.

My fiancee used to live in Dublin and sometimes just sending a letter over would cost £2.50. A leather jacket would cost a lot more.lol.

I think you were right to be suspicious.
Is ebay supposed to automatically decline the bid when someone bids out of the posting range? I'm kind of new to this ebay thing, sorry. ;)

Yes, but i've since found out that you have to alter the shipping options yourself.....which i didn't do.:o But i will make sure to do this in future.

I am located in Rep of Ireland and always email the seller before bidding. I do find that people overcharge to Ireland sometimes :mad:but most sellers are great.:T

She (I think) cannot dictate the cost of postage. She should have checked with you prior to sending her money.

This is the type of thing that stops UK sellers shipping to Ireland.

I would email her the actual cost, give her 7 days to pay the balance and don't give her feedback until after you get yours.

She really does not have a leg to stand on
