We have just applied. I think our broker put our application in on Tuesday late afternoon (1st June). Haven’t had a valuation booked or credit check done yet. Or heard anything for that matter but he has been on annual leave since.
How long was it until you heard anything after application? We are also self employed (ltd company) but have already provided the tax overviews etc and our accountant has just finished our reference too. Is there anything else they will ask?
Hi, We applied 25th May submitted our bank statements and accountants certificate, a soft credit search was also carried that day and Valuation took place a week later 1st June.  This was sent to Accord the following day but a typo prevented it from being accepted and it had to be amended and re-submitted. This was done yesterday and we’ve been told that it will be looked at Monday and (hopefully 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻) go to offer. All our documents are showing on Accords system as ‘satisfied’ but there is always the chance that more info could be requested at the final check stage.
We’ve been in business for 15 years but this is the first mortgage we have applied for as self employed...who knew it would be so much more difficult than when we were employed?!
So far, our broker and Accord have been excellent to  deal with...I hope and pray that I have a positive update on Monday. Good luck with your app! 😃

Hi, where can you see theAccords system show as ‘satisfied’? Did they give you the login to see it? I submitted our application via broker in the same day as you, we heard nothing from them, not even a soft credit check. My broker is on holiday for a week which is not very helpful...
  • Your broker can go in and have a look..ours has sent me screen prints so I can see them. You could always contact the estate agent to see if a valuation has been arranged although they don’t always out a site visit..ah good luck, I hope your broker returns from holiday with good news for you 😀

    Brilliant thank you!
We got a call (we are also the acting estate agents) to book valuation on Tuesday. Valuation carried out today (Wednesday). Broker has just emailed this evening to say the valuation report has already been uploaded and is fine. Although they have put it down as a bungalow and it’s not so he’s got to flag this. He said all there is now is for them to check the accountants reference! So fingers crossed! Havent had any queries or questions yet, so I’m just wary we might still get some, I don’t know. Would be amazing to get an offer next week. The sellers want to get it through for end of June!
I know it’s crazy isn’t it. Our staff wouldn’t have to provide anything yet they work for the company I have to prove is a good company for myself 🤷🏼‍♀️ Seems like madness to me.
    Thank you.

Full application and hard search 08/05/21.
    Valuation instructed 11/05/21.
    Valuation carried out 14/05/21.
Documents requested by accord 17/05/21 I’m self employed so had to apply to HMRC who advised it could take 10 days to receive documents.
Revived documents 28/05/21 submitted to accord AM.
Mortgage offer in post 28/05/21 PM.
    Overall a straight forward process.
Hi, we’re in similar position to you...self employed (ltd company), we’ve applied to Accord and just waiting on the valuation as far as I’m aware. Do you mind me asking what docs they asked you to supply from HMRC? Many thanks
We had to send two years SA302 and tax overviews, these are available easily on you self assessment account however one of mine had an incorrect figure on it HMRC hadn’t included my class 2 contributions, so I had to get HMRC to send out a new SA302 showing class 2, as accord want these docs to match to the penny. Good luck 😊
Aside from the documents you had to get, did you receive any other questions or queries from them?

I didn’t get asked any question the only thing that really cropped up was the seiss grants they are fine if you’ve claimed them
but they won’t allow you to use them as a deposit.

Ah sounds like it’s all happening for you 🤞🏻We got our offer on Monday evening, still can’t quite believe it. Best of luck to you!
  • Thanks for sharing your experiences in this thread. I'm also going through the process with Accord - seems to be quite quick.
  • Does anyone know how difficult it is to get an accord mortgage if one of us is self employed. I’m employed and husband self employed. He took SEISS and a bounce back loan which he will pay off before mortgage. He is now trading fully again.
Worried as it was submitted Wednesday and heard nothing. We are already an accord customer with our current mortgage.
