Yes, it's very possible indeed. I saw a house in a remote village in Scotland, thinking I must be the only person who would want such a property. There were 14 viewings in 2 days and someone had offered substantially above asking price before I had a chance. The market is unprecedented at the moment and if you can wait to buy, it's probably advisable. However, if you are eager to buy soon, you may well have a challenge on your hands.0

When I was an EA, pre internet, we would 'sign up' buyers and phone THEM when a new property came up that seemed to fit their requirements. The best buyers would get to see the place before we'd written up details or taken photos.These days it seems EA's aren't bothered, they just list everyhing on Rightmove and wait for the calls. So yes, you need to phone - phone! - asap when you see something you're interested it and be prepared to drop other plans to get in and view asap.0

They're just trying to sell the property. If they've got 33 viewings, I'd imagine that's enough to be sure of a sale so they're better off using their resources elsewhere.Best thing is to check throughout the day and call as soon as something goes online, or get friendly with the EA so they ring you first.Also, not wanting to seem overly keen or desperate won't do you any favours. If you want to see the house that badly, tell them. And tell them you're having trouble actually getting viewings because everything's so crazy so is there anything they can do?0

Where I am houses are selling within a day or two, maybe it’s so busy where you are too and it’s best just to call straight away rather than email, hope you manage to see another property soon but looks like this one will be snapped up before you get to see it.0

They will say to many for this property but it is more likely they are just swamped with all their properties and can't meet he viewing demand.

How many people on their list of interested buyers had they also sent the details to?

You saw it on Friday. You spoke to somebody about it on Weds evening. The BH was Monday only.

So get in there earlier...
Get on the list of people the EA send details to, instead of waiting to react to an ad.
If you do see something you like, phone them THERE AND THEN, don't wait five days.
When they hear from you, they shouldn't have to ask your name and address and proceedability. They should say, "Oh, hi, Mrs X - yes, we thought you might like that one."0 -
Just to add, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with sounding desperate, in fact I am using those words to estate agents! (Found a buyer for my house three weeks ago, still haven’t found anything to buy). I want to be the person they ring up when something new comes in, and if that means making a complete pain of myself by ringing them every other day so be it. It doesn’t mean that I am going to be a pushover on price, there’s a difference between viewing and buying.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.2

The area we are looking for properties. EA’s do not open on a Sunday. So were closed on the Bank holiday Monday also. Depending on which EA trying to contact. We have found it easier to look up their own number, rather than using the right move number which transfers you to them.0

So after seeing a lot of responses saying we need to be more pushy for information, I rang the EA this morning and have been told that they are doing blocks of ten bookings at at time (this was requested by the seller)
so at least we have a little more information that before. Thank you for your advice to find out more about what was happening.0
