As everybody has said above.Brandon9 said:So should I write a letter to DCBL or call them with some questions, as advised in a previous post such as:
1. What authority do they have to act.
2. Ask for a breakdown for the figures claimed.
3. Ask about payment plans.
1. What authority do they have to act. <<<< they are simply instructed by the PPC
2. Ask for a breakdown for the figures claimed. <<<< YES
3. Ask about payment plans. <<<<< WHY ? You are not going to pay them anything
1: You deny any debt
2: You ask them for a breakdown of the amount and as each ticket has been inflated to £160, what is their legal authority to add these extra amounts.
All done by email. Interesting though that they refer you back to UKPC for answers which tells us DCBL don't have a clue what this is about ..... typical ?

That's right, but leave at least two weeks between receiving an answer and firing of your next question.Brandon9 said:I will write them a letter with 1 question and post it 2nd class this weekend. I guess I will wait for a response and then fire off another question and just repeat that process for as long as I can then.
Are they not legally allowed to take further action then if questions relating to the "fine" have been asked?
You are trying to delay things, not racing to the finish.2 -
Thank you. Is there a reason why you suggest to email them? I would have thought that by writing them a letter, this will delay things further?beamerguy said:

They are unregulated, they can do as they please. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
You cannot be certain anything posted will arrive safely. A mislaid letter could result in a court claim. Send an email and add yourself in the mailing list. That way you will know it has been sent, and if you get your own copy back, then it is fairly certain the debt crawlers will have received it as well.
It was me that suggested asking about a payment plan. The idea was to get them on the hook and make them think you were about to crumble. I never said anything about agreeing to a payment plan or any suggestion payment would be forthcoming to them. They get nothing if they end up handing this back to the scammers, so it's in their interest to try to get you to pay.
If you can get them to think you might pay, they will be less likely to hand it back to their principal.

It doesn't look as though DCBL have an email address to contact them, it's just a phone number or postal address.0

I found this by searching the forum: -Brandon9 said:It doesn't look as though DCBL have an email address to contact them, it's just a phone number or postal address.
info@dcblegal.co.uk
Also there might be some e-mail info on any correspondence you received from them.1 -
3. Ask about payment plans. What? And you PHONED them? Stop. You also called it a fine, so you need to read our advice again and the NEWBIES thread. It doesn't look as though DCBL have an email address to contact them, it's just a phone number or postal addressThat's odd, seeing as you will find by reading any DCBLegal (or 'Recovery') thread that everyone here emails them and no-one sends lettersPRIVATE 'PCN'? Info@dcblegal.co.uk is the correct email. I have just fired over email number one. They aim to respond within 10 working days.0

Whoa! Tell me if I'm wrong, but it is not DCB Legal who are writing to you, it's DCB Limited? Don't involve the legal arm of DCB unless or until DCB Legal write to you. That's what you're trying to filibuster out via correspondence with DCB Limited.Brandon9 said:Info@dcblegal.co.uk is the correct email. I have just fired over email number one. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
