Lets face it, it is just pot luck if your case is sorted, there doesn't seem to be any coordination in the office dealing with the debacle. I read a few month's ago it could take years to sort, one would assume thousands more pensioners will have died by then.
Maybe the DWP apologists/defenders on this thread will enlighten us to how the DWP are dealing with the now out of control situation

Hi JJC........my mother is already dead and the way things are going the relatives/next of kin will probably all be dead too before they sort it out !.
My opinion, for what its worth, is that the staff are probably not trained and are straight out of college with the preverbial............'well done here's your degree certificate'.
Our country and establishment is a complete mess.

My mum was an EO in the tax office before she retired. It's likely that your query is being dealt with by someone like her, with O-levels or GCSEs, not anyone with a degree.
