@doingitanyway - I thought the portrayal of the actor playing Shardlake was interesting too. With regard to the other main character, I think they decided to mix him with another that was in the first book. Wasn't keen on that.
@Sun_Addict - yes it's lovely to stay here an extra week. I had nothing special planned at home so it's welcome.
Thank you @milann - yes, I must admit I don't miss having to rush back to work anymore!😀

DD had to go back south for work yesterday and her OH went off first thing this morning so then there was one! (plus two Bears!).
We had a storm yesterday afternoon with heavy rain until the evening. Today has been nice though - warm but hazy. Usual jobs today of vaccing, wiping down and laundry. The garden lawn part of the croft has been mowed today for its first cut of the year by the neighbour and his big machine so it looks a lot tidier now.
Once I've fed the dogs later I'm off to have coffee with another neighbour.
Tonight I think I'll be watching Red Eye on the TV.  Jacket potato with cheese and beans plus salad tonight for dinner - nice and simple.

Well!  It's now the first day of autumn (in my little head September 1st always means that to me). The whole summer has flown by since I last posted - which wasn't what I meant to do at the start of the year when I vowed I'd keep up regularly with my diary!
Looking at my last post I was in Scotland Bear-sitting - since then I've been up there again. I had a really nice break in Stratford upon Avon at the end of July and had a long weekend at DD's in the North of England
Days out have included another visit to see Moulin Rouge at the theatre ( this is now one of the favourite musicals) and an interesting visit to see the Naomi Campbell fashion exhibition at the V&A. Can't say I'm her biggest fan but the fashions were fabulous!

    WEIGHT
Over the summer I seemed to have lost my mojo with trying to lose weight. I've kept up the gym and Pilates sessions and trying to fit in more walking but without sorting out my dietary habits I'd come to a standstill. I had a fall on my knees a few weeks ago which really left my left knee quite painful. Tbh my doctor was pretty useless so I had a private MRI which has been sent to the surgery. I couldn't decipher my copy apart from I have a touch of osteoarthritis and cartilage damage - both of which I guessed already. So I'm waiting to hear from the surgery.
The knee feels a lot better now but now for some reason the back of the right knee is playing up!
All which brings me to the conclusion that I have to lose weight as this blubber is really having an adverse effect on my knees.
And so three weeks ago I had my first Mounjaro injection which is one of the new weight loss drugs. I've gone through a reputable online chemist where they won't prescribe it unless you are obese. I had to supply a full length photo plus a copy of my passport for photo identity before they would prescribe. As I am on medication for high blood pressure I'm hoping any weight loss will help this too.
I haven't had any side effects so far - I'm eating 1400 calories and slightly less each day and I'm hoping for a regular 2lb loss. You still feel hunger but this is satisfied during your meal and I haven't felt the urge at all to snack - which is unheard of for me! I have to give myself a weekly injection.
After two weeks I've lost 9 1/2 lbs and looking forward to my third weigh-in on Tuesday.

    SCRIMPY MSE THINGS
Well the monthly cost of the Mounjaro isn't that scrimpy but I do feel it's something I have to do!
Oh - but I have fixed my electricity with Octopus for the year so hopefully the bills will go down in due course.

I've a lot of diary catching up to do but hope everyone reading this has had a great summer and all is well. Xxx😀
