Thanks @doingitanyway and @milann. 😃. Milann - I know just what you mean when buying for your adult children when they seem to have everything - I tend to buy a couple of the same sort of Christmas gifts for DD and her OH - i.e. like the boxer shorts and Amazon voucher for him and books, calendar for her plus chocs for them both. I will then get them a voucher/pay for a really nice meal for them both.

Today actually I have ordered the boxer shorts for DD's OH and also something that I think DD will like. She's quite keen on climbing and has 'bagged' a few of the Scottish Munros.  I've ordered a wall map of Scotland from the Ordnance Survey which details all the Munros and you can cross these off as you have climbed them. There are quite a few so I don't know whether she'll ever get round to doing them all but I think she will like it and I can take it and the shorts up there later on in the month. 😃👍

Nothing much done today - it was quite stuffy and hot today with not much of a breeze. I did some washing and hoovered.

I also spoke to the Howdens guy on the phone and he is coming round here on Friday afternoon. This is to quote for new kitchen doors as I don't like the current ones.

Spoke to a MSE friend tonight on the phone which was nice. 😃

The shorts were reduced from £30 to £21 for a two pair pack and the wall map was £15.99 - I was able to put both orders through Topcashback.

I received £10 in loyalty vouchers via my M&S credit card. It's a shame they didn't arrive a few days ago as I could have put them towards my towels!

    Nothing else spent today.

Great idea on the Munroe calander  :)
As my DS is back to uni next week we are just doing token presents this year which I think is a big relief all round  :)

Yes @beanie - all of us in the family have cut down quite a bit in the last few years. For Christmas it's a few inexpensive presents to unwrap and a meal out later in the year.

We've really cut back and now have a £20 limit per person or £30 per couple - the youngest grandchild will be 24 by Christmas and only just finished uni this year and not able to start in her chosen career until April next year!  She's been looking for a fill in job in a shop or similar but there's just nothing around near where she lives at the moment.

We have been doing this for about 10 years now as at the time I was just coming up to retirement, both DDs were in poorly paid jobs and the grandchildren were teenagers.  We also only buy for immediate family now since both sets of our parents are deceased.

Love the Munro map, ideal present for someone who is walking them. One of the presents I get my 2 eldest DS,s who don’t live at home now, is gift card for the SM they shop at. I save usually a £1. Weekly on each, so I don’t even miss the money. At Xmas they then get a £50 card so they usually put it to their food shop and have said it definitely comes in handy. Xx

    Good ideas @joedenise and @amber03. 😃👍

Another really hot day today in Seasideville. On walking down to gym this morning I kept to the shady side of the road. It was my final gym session till the middle of next month as the PT is on holiday next week and then I go to Scotland for a fortnight. I'm going to have to do some DVD routines next week but DD and OH have gym equipment that I can use when I go up there.

I picked up my medication on the way home and then had to stay in as I was waiting for my towels and Boots toiletries to be delivered. The towels are really nice - very fluffy!

I'm recording the new series of Changing Rooms and Shetland to watch later.

Paid my PT and put some cash over to DSis's account for little nephew's birthday - he wants to buy something in the virtual reality range which seems the be the gift du jour that little boys seem to want at the moment!🤷‍♀️

Apart from the above no other spends today.

Another hot, sunny day today!🌞. I'm sitting down at the moment with a sparkling water waiting for my hair treatment to take effect!

Later on this afternoon I'm out as it's little nephew's birthday today and we're having an early family celebration dinner at a very nice gastropub a few miles away from DSis's. I'm going to be good and just have strawberries and fat free yoghurt today before I leave so I can do a bit of justice to the meal!🤣

    MSE SCRIMPY THINGS
Spends will be my share of the meal, taxi fare over to DSis's and back again. I can't hire an Uber from here as our local council have banned them from picking up in the district.  However I can hire an Uber from DSis's to take me back and it has tended to work out about a third cheaper than an ordinary cab. I've heard the Uber prices have gone up recently so it will be interesting to see what the difference is now.
