Mail seems to be all over the place at the moment, I haven’t had any post for some time now. I know most things are online but I have a few magazine subscriptions still not received but out in the shops. I’m glad you got your cheese box sorted out.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1

Our post arrived at 4.30 today 😳January spends - £587.581

@Sun_Addict - there seems to be something odd going on with the post. All my financial affairs are now carried out online, but like you I still receive the odd HMRC/DWP letters and magazine subs, as well as a few catalogues and various offers. I used to receive something most days but now it seems like I receive several bits through the post at twice weekly or even sometimes once a week. Like you, I also received one of my recent magazines after it had appeared in the shops.@milann - I moaned when my post arrived at 2.30pm, but 4.30pm is a joke! 😱
It started off nice and sunny here but came over really dark and gloomy around 4pm - I think it's raining now. Today I went through cleaning the kitchen - wiped down all the tops and appliances and mopped the floor. I also did my periodic shredding.Shall be curling up later to watch Location and Shetland. 😀
SCRIMPY MSE THINGSBig news today - I received an email from NS&I to tell me I had won £75 in November's premium bond draw. 😀😀😀😀!!!! Spooky as I have posted comments on PBs on a couple of diaries over the last few days.
Since I topped up my PBs to the full amount in May and have been eligible for the draw since June, I have won a total of £150. This equates to four wins out of six months. It's still not quite enough to top the Marcus interest rate I have on my savings account, but I'm sticking with it.And a NSD today. 😃Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
Finished Emergency Fund- £10,000 April 2017

RETIRED: MAY 2021!!!!😀🎆

Congrats on the PB win 🎉🎉 we are having the same problems with mail at the moment, DD had something delivered but missed the first delivery so she rearranged it for Monday,we waited in all day and it didn't arrive and no card was put through the door, she got a letter today from Parcel Force saying they tried to deliver it twice and it's now at the depot. They have only tried to deliver it once for a start and we were there the day they reckon they tried to deliver it again,it's now been rearranged after she phoned them to sort it outOriginal Debt Owed Jan 18 = £17,630 Paid To Date = £6,510 Owed = £11,1201

Thanks @Sun_Addict @beanielou and @Onebrokelady. 😃
@Onebrokelady - Parcelforce has become a joke. They always used to leave a note if they got no reply when attempting delivery. I have then been able to arrange to pick up parcels at my local post office. I don't know what's been happening to them lately. 🤷♀️And today I have received my post at 3.30pm!😱
At least I have received an email from DPD this morning to let me know they're delivering my cheese box tomorrow. They will also send me another text tomorrow morning to give me a two hour time slot when they'll deliver. I can then track them on my iPad so I know when they're about to arrive! This morning I met a friend for coffee who still works at my old firm. She has always been part time but has to come in the office one day a week now and WFH the rest of the time. She will be retiring in a couple of years and says she can't wait! We each had coffee and a slice of Victoria sponge. 😋.Afterwards I popped in to a little indoor artisan food and flower market that has just opened quite near my home. They have a deli/cheese counter, bakery, doughnut and coffee stand, butcher, greengrocer and little wine bit where you can also taste the various wines as well as purchasing them. Plus flowers, plants and some accessories like bags and scarves. It's really nice in there and great to see that it's doing good business. I bought some apples and satsumas - I thought it would be the '£5 per cauliflower' type of greengrocer but was no dearer than our existing local greengrocer. It's lovely to have something like this on my doorstep. 😀This afternoon I curled up on the sofa and read my book. Tonight I'll be watching Stacey Solomon's new programme helping people declutter their homes ( I'm a mug for this type of programme!) and the new 'Dalgleish' series. It will be interesting to see how it measures up to the previous 1970s TV adaptation. This year the fireworks have been rather muted thank goodness. Over the last few years leading up to the lockdown there seemed to be continuous fireworks going off every evening between Halloween and Bonfire Night. This year I must say I only heard a few last night - hopefully that will continue tonight!SCRIMPY MSE THINGS
It was my turn to buy the coffees and cake, plus I bought the fruit. Nothing else spent today. Finally Debt Free! - July 2016 🌟
