    Thanks @EssexHebridean and @beanielou
@EssexHebridean - my back is feeling a bit better today. I can sit on the counter stool in the kitchen now which I couldn't do before!  I did some more light housework yesterday and I'm going to do some more this afternoon. It's annoying as the remedial stuff I ordered from Amazon was delayed because of the weather. Half of it arrived this morning with the rest arriving this afternoon, but it would have been helpful to have had it sooner!  I've booked in for an MRI scan for next week when I get home.

Anyway the snow has melted here apart from a few pockets here and there but still cold and the roads are icy. At least we're not snowed in anymore!  The weather forecast isn't predicting any more today.

Yesterday I paid for my forthcoming scan - OUCH!  😩. No spends today though.

    WEIGHT
Still enjoying DD's healthy meals. However these have been supplemented by more Cranachan and the remaining mince pies!

I hope your back continues to improve. Glad you are getting an MRI to be sure all is well

Mmmmmm - Cranachan is lush!  Glad the back is on the mend. (It's probably the Cranachan - medicinal properties, you know!)

Thanks @doingitanyway. Yes I think the MRI scan is a must as I've been musing over having one for a while now as my lower back has not been right for a couple of years ever since I carried out my final year working before retirement at home - my desk chair wasn't as ergonomic as the one I had in the office.
@EssexHebridean - I agree that the Cranachan must have helped - I ate enough of it!😂. It was 'most efficacious in every way!'  Answers on a postcard please to Seasidegal on what 1960s song that line came from. Only those as old as me will probably remember it!😉

Yesterday I spoke to a medical consultant on the phone for my pre-scan chat. After going through things he said he didn't think I needed the coccyx part of the scan as I confirmed that this didn't hurt anymore. So Im just having the lumbar scan and he has refunded the coccyx cost.

It's my last full day today in the Highlands and I'm flying home tomorrow. DD's friends who couldn't get over for lunch last week because of the snow were due to come today but have cancelled again as one of them has copied me and gone flying on the ice onto her back and their mum is down with a virus. The friend said two neighbours have also done the same on the ice and had to go to hospital - one with a head injury and the other who was very elderly and had to be airlifted to Inverness. It's been lethal out there!  Luckily, although the weather is still very cold it's been raining rather than snowing and we've missed the awful storms the rest of the U.K. has been experiencing.
DD and I are now going out later with one of the neighbours to the village for a drink and some eats.
Tonight we'll be eating the rest of the Christmas picky bits from the freezer for dinner.

    MSE SCRIMPY THINGS
A NSD yesterday although there will be a spend later when we go out to the village.
A bonus was the refund on the scan. 😀

    WEIGHT
I'm not really looking forward to my weigh in on Tuesday when I get home, but hoping that at least the Mounjaro has helped stop me from eating as much over Christmas as I have done in previous years!

I too, have an ear worm ‘Jennifer Eccles has terrible freckles…..😂😂’ I’d read somewhere that Mike MrCarthy has been 82 recently 😯
Hope you’ve had a safe journey home  and that Seasideville is a tad warmer for you 👍

I saw them in the 70s and they were fab....

Ahhh  - good ol' The Scaffold's 'Lily The Pink!'  They don't make 'em like that anymore!😂 it was the Christmas number one too!

I'm back home now. I was sorry to say bye to DD and The Bears but will hopefully see them again before too long. 🤞. The journey to the airport was fine - the roads were ok but the middle part of the journey through the higher country was still like a Winter Wonderland. It was pouring though all the way and still teeming when I got to Gatwick but at least it felt a smidgen warmer.
And my Christmas decs were still up when I got home but I left taking them down till the next day - it didn't take long as I've cut back on garlands and my tree is quite small.
My friend had come round beforehand and switched on my storage heaters so the flat was nice and warm.
It all feels back to normal - I had my nails done on Monday - they needed doing badly!  My monthly Ocado delivery arrived as well. I did go out in the pouring rain yesterday as I wanted to get my friend a bottle of wine as thanks for keeping an eye on the flat when I was away. I also had to pick up a coat and scarves that didn't sell at the dress agency. These will be going onto Vinted.
Today I met my friend for lunch and later on I'm off to our local theatre to see The Bodyguard. DSis was coming but can't now so my friend is having her ticket.

    MSE SCRIMPY THINGS
Not much spent - spends include some coffees and eats at the airport, face serum from Beauty Pie, wine, nails, lunch today and there will be taxi fare and drinks at the theatre tonight.

    WEIGHT
VERY pleased on weigh in yesterday after three weeks away to find I only put on just under 3lb!  So DD's healthy meals and Mounjaro managed to offset all the Christmas treats I scoffed!  Back to watching the calories again now. 👍
