I then turned to the Rep and recapping that he mentioned the term "industry standards" - but asked him how can an unregulated industry have "standards" - who enforces these? I then said its no wonder that the UK Government had to intervene with a new Parking Code of Practice.
Nice report ..... you deserved the win
You make a big point above. For the last 10 years, the BPA, IPC and parking companies thought they were king of the castle living in this dream world. The new code of practice will turn them into the "wide mouth frog"
Where there are standards is the SRA and there is nothing in the SRA rules that allow a select few legals to scam the public as they do now.

Thank you for the excellent court report @95Rollers. My red meat requirement satisfied for today! Nice one. 🙂Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Thanks for the most excellent court report, and well done on your win.
I hope you stick around on this forum. You are an asset and have already helped others, but you bring the added benefit of court experience that most of the regulars do not have, which will be very useful to help other victims.I married my cousin. Well done on your win
. Thanks for that brilliant court report. I thought that you would win as you had put in a lot of work. I noticed also that you use images and diagrams. Some people respond well to images rather than the written word.
I do wonder what sort of core values that the directors of these PPC's have? Money I expect and nothing else.
It is an eye opener defending a case at court. You will now have the experience to argue your corner and threaten organisations with litigation.

The industry as a whole are still smarting from picking fights with the wrong people - join the club!
I've been discussing your case with @ParkingMad behind the scenes as we are both in the BMPA off-forum fightback association and she likes a good OPS case as much as the next woman (me). I know she reached out and advised you well.
Honest people of Sussex opinion - matching that of local Councillors and journalists, and of course the good people of Llangrannog in Wales - might say that OPS need to get the heck out of car parks and go back to their old day jobs.3 -
Another point I've remembered was the Rep asked me if I had appealed and why not? I explained that the Appeals was not independent and a pointless process based on the PPCs track record. I also elaborated that it was pointless when it us not legally standing. I also drew reference to their directors' unabashed boasting in the national media that they will never let anyone off with a ticket so what was the point in wasting my time. I also added that the PPC had made a "mistake" (the double dip) which I assumed would be picked up should they ever wish to pursue it to court as thete would be an expectation of real evidence and an investigation of due dilligence to be carried out before it ever getting to that stage! They couldn't argue that. I also drew reference to later One Parking Solutions lack of cooperation and evasiveness re: this! The rep couldn't justify or explain this!** I'll add more stuff if I remember anything not already included of note - once I've located and deciphered my illegible pages of scrawled shorthand notes!11

Sometimes that can be used against the defendant. After the media coverage in the news I would have thought that the rep would be a bit more clued up.
