    Hi all,

We had a lovely Sunday. Began with a lazy lie in, then we went to see Dad and Stepmum who very kindly insisted that they wanted to buy our turkey this year. I don't know how much he thinks turkeys cost, but I could buy at least six free range organic turkeys with that amount! I did object but he insisted, so I'll do as he wishes and buy the turkey and put the rest towards Christmas treats for the children.

This afternoon the children all went to a special Christmas church service to mark the centenary of Scouting. They all looked lovely in their uniforms. And this evening I cooked a whole fresh salmon, also courtesy of Dad who loves salmon fishing...do you think he's trying to tell me something? I did it with cous cous and oven roasted vegetables and it was delicious.

Going to settle down soon to watch Top Gear, then the usual Sunday evening madness getting everything organised for School tomorrow.

Anyway, the real reason why I popped on was to wish Mr Aussie lots of luck for today. I hope the op goes well. xx

Hello, Im a bit of a newbie and only just found this forum after trawling around looking for help on other things.

You all sound so busy I'm fair worn out !
Well, with a torn ligament in my ankle (week three now) I managed what would normally be a ten minute walk down to the town for the Christmas market. The weather was good, even the sun shone and the townsfolk were out in full. Spent a bit, had a laugh then came home to finish wrapping up what seems to be a bottomless pit of pressies this year.Don;t know why, it just does.
Just had a look at the thread all about organising household chores...........frightened myself to death when I thought about what I need to do this week before we do the 'santa run' at the weekend !
Still, if I plan my days and stick to them (thats the hard part) I just may be ready by Thursday night and not end up leaving the house looking like its been burgled (mind you, might deter anyone from even thinking about it if looks like someone got here first !)

And thats been my day................oh, forgot to mention ....I foster teenagers so have to run my time around them occassionally though they're currently glued to some dvd or other and giving me some peace.

Will pop in again sometime..........when I've got to grips with wiping this and that, hoovering, dusting, etc etc.:j (wish I could jump up and down like this)

    Hi Mary and welcome

OS stands for Old Style. Don't think we are all organised, energetic, etc., I certainly am not!:o

Sat here laptop on knee, watching Sports Personality of the Year, after SCD and waiting for Cranford

Thanks DG. OS - OId Style, it all makes such perfect sense when you know.

Maybe I can pick up a few tips and convince myself I'm more organised ?

    Evening all:santa2:

Well, I am sitting at the computer and an unwanted visitor is sitting underneath the computer - I have a mouse in my bedroom:eek:

Every so often, he pops his head out then straight back under. I heard some scuttling about half an hour ago and happened to see the little  So far it's avoided the trap:mad:

Does anyone know how long the poison takes to work? Obviously not instantly but if the  doesn't go to the trap I wont be able to sleep in here tonight.

    Pipkin xxxx

Not sure how long it takes to work. Never tried it indoors.........when we had some mice a few years back our cat had a couple..........the rest were caught in the trap baited with off cuts of bacon. Lady at out pet shop reckoned mice love chocolate.........have a rolo might do it. Good luck. Most unnerving to have them scuttling about.

Night all.................off now to watch Top Gear............not for the cars but Jeremy Clarkson has me in stitches along with James May.
