Afternoon everyone
posted this morning but it disapeared - ah well
dgs3 has come over to look after nana who is Home Alone. He is setted in front of CBBC in nana's knitting chair with a little side table with water, milk, cheese on toast and a biscuit - the life of riley. He's at that chatty age when e asks a lot of questions and describes what he sees all the time. BlessI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -

OK think this is it.............keep your fingers crossed.........
Hey, csarina - they're great! We've been wondering where tootles was :T Have you kidnapped moggins, Queenie, Lillibet and Kazonline, too
Had a great evening yesterday. We even ate chestnuts fresh from a roasting fire. Had a long lie this morning and brunch of plantain and maple pancakes, with sauseages and bacon, and lashings of hot tea.
DH and I have been for a long walk along the river. We saw lots of wildlife, including a kingfisher.
Just had an e-mail from a friend - his wife has had a baby 6 weeks early   She hadn't even finished work, so her class will have a shock on Monday. The baby's fine but in special care, and they've given him the same name as our DS
Beef curry for tea, then a log fire and we'll all watch Cranford together - really enjoying that.
Taplady - your DS is very lucky. Hope you're feeling better.
Shez - hope you enjoy the Terracotta Warriors - please tell all about it.
Elona - did you go to York for the swimsuit? Have you tried the nutshop opposite Early Learning. They have swimwear upstairs all year round.
Enjoy the rest of your day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
afternoon all,
DD and I went to tecso for flour and sugar (to make biccys) and I had a bit of a funny turn, felt all hot and fainty, so came home and I sat down with feet up, while DD put the christmas tree up, she has done a really good job it looks great.
OH took little dog out for a walk and she came back covered in mud and jumped all over the sofa and carpet with muddy paws  , have just left it in the hope that I can hoover it up once its dry. Might try and get the carpet cleaned before xmas, will phone tomorrow.
Had a lovely roast beef diner, and am stuffed now, just going to settle down and watch starwars on the TV, DD is doing homework.
Have good evenings all xx0 -
Just been reading yesterday's thread and came upon this gem:HariboJunkie wrote:OH cooked AND cleaned my carpets today. He must be about to present me with his Christmas list.
Haribo, my dear, I think carpet-cooking requires its own threadWould you kindly ask DH if he'll post his recipe

Donny gal and Pen Pen
Thanks to both of you for the ideas! Big hug to you both.
DD likes the idea of looking at the swimming pool after school tomorrow and if we do not see anyhing she likes then I can go to York and try the place near the Early learning centre.
We tried the big Tesco at Seacroft but I forgot stuff is seasonal. Did get some nice charty Christmas cards so not a total waste.
Need to write cards tomorrow and had a letter from a relative saying a cousin I have not seen for years has just been diagnosed with cancer. He was named after my late father so it has brought back all the unhappiness of 2006 as well as being a shock."This site is addictive!"

Evening All
(((Elona)))
Best Wishes to Mr Aussie for tomorrow.
Dont know where the weekend has gone - its sped past.
Took DD shopping this morning to get her friends Xmas pressies - we went to Chelmsford and it was horrible. Was in and out in a hour and that was an hour too long.
Came home and had bit of a veg out on the settee did manage to cook dinner though. Enjoyed strictly come dancing - cant beleive that Alesha was in the dance off though.
House has been cleaned courtesy of OH and washing basket is empty - not too much ironing and hopefully will do that tomorrow. Friend took DS to football and we won 1-0 - scored by DS - not bad considering he was in goal most of the time!
Killing the time now surfing till Top Gear is on.
Enjoy the last bit of the weekend.

Well now I am completely and utterly green with jealousy!! I've just read GrannyBroon's post that she was in China and visited the TerraCotta Army in situ... That is way up on my "things to do when I get enough money". Those photos look fab GB. I saw some pictures which had been touched up to make the figures look as they would have looked when they were first created - if you think they are breathtaking now, the colour version must have been simply amazing.
Oh yeah, back from the shops. I went to an outlet centre near here - it's lovely especially in the rain:rolleyes: I got some socks and some drawers (the cotton variety, not wooden ones) from M&S. But no presents....eeek! I only have two things to get, so think I will be brave next week and go to Belfast for one next weekend, and get the other off the internet. What stress for one day!!!
AussieLass, all the best to MrAussie for his operation. Tell him I am sending positive thoughts his way (like that'll make a difference, hehe).
Gotta go and phone the wrinklies. They have lost one of their dogs, so fingers crossed he has shown up - he's been missing for a week now, so it's not looking that good really.
Bye

I did a Tru this morning

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh someone's stolen my drawing pins  All the decs are up except for the ceiling ones  They only take a few mins though so I'll buy some more tomorrow and get them up then I can relax
I spoke to my boss earlier, I thought he rang to arrange getting the work phone back to me before 8am tomorrow, instead he said 'oh don't worry about it, I know you feel trapped by it so I'll keep it'. I was going 'FREEDOM AT LAST'
