NSD 1 for me ... 1/16
Very happy as we were tempted at the pub yesterday to do their Sunday roast takeout today. But we didn’t ... rather we went to the allotment this morning and then ate out of freezer saving ourselves £40!- Grocery Challenge: April £263.60 / £250

Well done beanie, WinterWarrior, Sallyp2 and Honeysucklelou2

Sallyp2, I've got an allotment! The weed fabric I mentioned earlier is going to go on some beds there. It's great growing fruit and veg

We gave up on weed fabric - found weeds grew through it and made a mat we couldn’t pull up. For a free option try old compost sacks. Cut them down the seam so they open up. Found the inside is also back, so goI’d for warming up soil. You also end up using the plastic bag and not throwing it into landfillcathybird said:Well done beanie, WinterWarrior, Sallyp2 and Honeysucklelou2

I've always used weed fabric and in fact find it very effective - it does break down every few years, as everything does, but at that point I replace it. I make my own compost and only buy it once in a blue moon so it's a good suggestion but I would never have enough leftover sacks to cover the amount of ground I need to cover!Sallyp2 said:
