Aren't DD's used generally to withdraw funds, not add them? (just a thought).
Yes, hence my comment about a Direct Debit being set up by ebay in order to issue a refund to a buyer.

Ebay have always had a way of taking a refund - it used to be via paypal now it is your bank.

I have been reading this thread with interest as I have just tried to enter my account details both automatically and manually on the Ebay website and getting Trustly coming up each time.  I absolutely didn't want to give them access to my bank accounts!  Using the automatic method on my computer I pressed 'Deny Access'.  I was then immediately logged out of the accounts section.  I then went onto the app on my phone and went to the payments section.  Where previously Trustly had been the only option, suddenly I was able to enter my account details for the DD method!!  All set up and sorted and Trustly not involved.  I hope this helps some people :)

It's stated during the setup process that the Trustly Open Banking connection to your bank is only valid for a day after which it is automatically expired. You can confirm this in your online banking settings (website).
Of course a day is enough time for them to "steal" your current transaction details but they won't have ongoing access after a day has passed.

Once you get to 'your' latest date then your ability to sell is disabled unless you sign up. You can still buy and complete any existing sales, but can no longer sell.

Hi - Dian. Thanks for the info. I tried it but it looks as though Ebay aren't supplying that option for me. It wont let me add via Payments in the App. It brings up a message "would you like to complete transaction in browser". If you reply "no", it ends. If you reply "yes", then it takes you to the browser and the two standard automatic or manual Trustly options. Anybody else found a way of setting up a DD without agreeing to Trustly all powerful terms?

if you do sign.up for open banking, you can revoke that access from your bank's app or online access at any time.

if you have absolutely no other way you could consider using trusty and then revoking.

if as suggested trusty is just used to set up a direct debit then this might work.
