The NHS only shows vaccine details if your GP allows to you view your medical records online. Unfortunately mine don't unless I go in to the surgery in person and provide ID. Not something I want to do at the moment.
My GP surgery doesn't allow anyone currently to view medical records on the NHS app - but vaccinations are in a separate section and can still be viewed.
I don't seem to have that section at all then. I see Advice, Appointments, Prescriptions, Your health and Messages. Prescriptions just has details of my long term medication. Your health and Appointments are completely locked down for me. No where mentions vaccinations. Hopefully something that can be fixed centrally without the need to harass my GP because I'm sure they have better things to do.
I'm so sorry tacticalbanjo - I wrote that from memory & without looking at the app...
From the home page  -> select "View your GP health record", or select "Your health" at the bottom of the screen.  Then "Immunisations" from the list below your personal details.

When I first starting using the NHS app, around late Jan / early Feb 2021, the only bit I could use was the repeat prescriptions section, but they seem to have unlocked a few more bits since then.  When I was at the surgery last month, I asked about being able to view medical records on it and was told it wasn't possible.

Sadly my GP have blocked that section for me. They want me to go in person with photo ID to unlock it even though they don't want anyone to attend the surgery in person. I'll just have to wait until after my second vaccination and Monday's update to the app which will unlock vaccine status for people who have had two jabs. At least that's what yesterday's update on my GP's website says. It looks like someone in charge realised that they couldn't allow GPs to block such an important piece on information on the app if leisure travel will rely on it.

Downloaded the NHS app and had to go through the verifying of myself. Can’t believe it can take a week or longer!

I used my UK driving licence as photo ID and it took several hours for verification. My wife used her foreign Passport and it took a couple of minutes!
  • Glad I came back to read this thread. I had signed up for the app but did not have access to anything. Just checked, now I do have access to my COVID vaccination but not the medical records. Happy with this until we can see our GPS again, if ever from a BBC news story today, they reckon it will be a lot longer for face to face appointments.

Before the pandemic, my GP practice had an open surgery each weekday morning. Doors opened at 8am. Majority queued up well before this - queued outside from 7:20 before, esp if you want to see the most popular GP.  If you turned up at 8am, the popular GP’s slots taken and could wait 3 hours to see any other.

Don’t think this will come back until at least a year after the pandemic.

I notice that the app needs internet to work.  It doesn't store an off line version to be able to refer to, if you don't have a connection.

I wonder if a screenshot would suffice, if a connection were unavailable, for proof of vaccination purposes?
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

They need to do something as many airports only offer free WiFi for about 20 mins and others the signal is rubbish as experienced in the past
