Want to leave Three after PAYG 321 price rise

Planning the long call to get my PAC but have a £20'ish unused PAYG credit. Is that quickly refunded or should I spend it on the higher rates before leaving to new paastures? Appreciate advice from anyone who's left Three when in the same situation.
Thanks for help.
Nice to save.

Will they actually refund a PAYG credit ??

I just had a look on the Three website and it does state you will lose any remaining credit when you switch so best to use it before you do!
You also don’t need to call up to get the PAC, you can text them.Just text PAC and your date of birth (DDMMYY) to 65075.http://www.three.co.uk/support/switching/leaving-three/details

I'm pretty sure that payg credit isn't refunded although some providers may allow you to carry it over if you are staying with them but just moving from payg to a contract.
Your options are to just use it up, donate it to a charity that accepts donations via a short code sms message or simply get your pac and lose the money.

I just let my credit be used up (I only had about £5 left) then switched to the MSE deal with Lebara0

Thanks all 3
responders. A case of Doh! for not reading the current T&Cs or even anticipating a refund in the first place. Was not sure what to do as the only deal offered was a 1 month contract costing more than my outstanding balance although they'd offered a £6/month deal before their 321 price increase! Pity to have to pay even more to the organisation which is already screwing you. So looks like it will probably be the donation route.
Thanks again for your help.Nice to save.0 -
Why not just use it up and go somewhere else - that's my plan when I've used up my £10 (which will still probably take me the best part of six months, even at Three's new price)
1pmobile at £30 a year is a bit more than I've been paying for Three but at 1p a minute instead of 3p, I'll be able to use three times the number of minutes and twice the number of texts that I could before the price rise)Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers1 -
I am running down credit stuck a data reward in as second SIM still uses the old rates and the 200MB will keep the credit use down.
The data bundles like the 50p 120MB for a day is still useful on the older SIM even on the new rates.
Got another data reward for the old phone.
O2 classics as backup if costing to much, cheaper than 1p for those that can't use £30per year.

Donate it to Comic Relief via text or similar. See the website.PAYG you can move but you don't get the credit back. Them's the rules - use it, lose it or (optionally) donate it.0

I can never work out why anyone on PAYG would put so much credit on the account? Most of them offer auto top-up these days, so you can just set the minimum balance at a fiver and not worry about it.No free lunch, and no free laptop2

I've got a cheap Three contract deal from TopCashback for my youngest child (too yuong to take a contract in their own name). They were previously on Three PAYG and when we web-chatted Three CS to get the number moved over they also moved the PAYG credit onto the new contract account. Im my case it was only a couple of quid but they might do the same for you?(This message is probably too late for @BlueVinney but might help others.)N. Hampshire, he/him.
