I agree with your criticism. But I believe that over the medium to longer term both have outperformed non ToU tariffs?

I haven't unsubscribed from the Gastracker mailing list yet, feeling quite relieved I waved goodbye to Tracker yesterday (and didn't opt for Agile).

It is not a criticism, it's an observation.

Past performance is no guarantee of future performance!

Me and others believe Tracker is done, for two reasons.

    The latest formulas.

And that wholesale prices are no longer falling very much.

Whilst the formula was in your favor and wholesale prices were falling, it was a no brainer that Tracker would beat SVT.

    But that is the past.

You are basing your decision on the past, that wouldn't be so bad if everything was broadly the same, but it isn't.

Over the short to medium term future, it is likely that most tou tariffs can out perform Octopus Tracker.

I suspect a well timed fix would too!

Octopus Tracker is no longer about what you can save, it's likely to be very little, but you could lose a fair bit, on the tariff itself before you can exit and missing the best of the fixes.

Why then did you switch Gas from Octopus Tracker to So Energy 12 month fix July/August 2021?

Pass.  Benefit of hindsight. From what people are saying the time has come to reassess the situation. Unless it is now too late to jump ship (to a fixed rate tariff)

A lot of people have reassessed the situation, and fixed, or moved elsewhere.

And some of us have been hinting to you, as much as we can.

Only you know how much energy you use and what risks you are exposed to.

Something tells me not much in actual money.

But, this idea that Tracker has been good in the past, so will be in the future, is flawed.

When people are speaking of switching to a "fix" is that the Octopus 12 M Fixed Jan 25 v1 ? - which doesn't look that different from Tracker but by definition limits one's exposure to future increases

Octopus is not the only energy supplier in the UK.

Only you know what you are trying to achieve, you never really say.

Yes although many switched to the December 2024 one a few days ago which was cheaper.
