iv'e visited this thread 2 or 3 times over the last few months with the same issue.
sometimes gas is averaged, sometimes electricity, occasionally both and occasionally both are "as used".
tbh, iv'e given up and use energy as i wish which defeats "saving up for cheap days". it's still been an incredibly cheap alternative compared to SVR. makes a bit of a mockery of "smart meters".0 -
In hindsight I should have submitted a meter reading for the day of the missing data and the day after before I contacted Octopus. That would have avoided this issue, but I'm not too fussed about a 13p difference. I had assumed they'd manually pull the missing data before forcing a bill as they have done in the past, but you live and learn.TBH it was only after I submitted a manual read and still failed to get a bill that I checked for missing data. This is the first time in a couple of years I've experienced this, and in the past it has been a whole day that was missing.

If you think you've got missing data, ask them to pull the data from the meter. I find octopus twitter account best for asking such questions.
Best to do that a few days before the bill is going to be calculated if possible.
And you can use Guy Lipman's site to see what is missing

My gas meter didn't report any data at all for about 3 weeks. I reported it to Octopus several times. Eventually they told me that is is an issue with the DCC(?) (I think DCC or somethign like that) and lots of people have the issue.
It then sprang back into life again a few days ago.
This seems to happen from time to time roughly about once a year to me.0 -

My bill for May was the highest since January 2023, the month before I changed to Tracker. A combination of slightly higher use and the less favourable formula. Still 15% below SVT. However our solar is just coming online so will probably change tariff at some point anyway.

The daily rates on the tracker have being around the 17p to 19p per kWh for about a month, if not longer, the tracker electric tariff seems like it's higher in summer than winter with only one or two days where it's below 17p. In the winter months I've had the electric as low as 7.2p.Someone please tell me what money is0 -

It is also the first persistent missing data on my account since my meter was installed about 3 years ago.On pricing, wholesale energy costs have more of an effect than seasonal variations, and these are driven by global factors.

Is there a [50%] chance that the averaged price will be lower than the non-averaged?Telegraph Sam
