Trying to decide what to do - our energy is horribly expensive - the 2022 winter was costing us almost £300 a month, and that's with us being very sparse with heating in a 1 bed flat. Thanks to Tracker it's cost us less than £140 over the last month, and we're using heating a *lot* more.
I guess it's unlikely it goes higher than the current new tracker prices right? More that SVT may be even lower. What is there to decide at the moment? Ride the wave of cheap prices whilst they last and deal with whatever comes along when it arrives. Anything else is just speculation at the moment.
The formula for calculating the daily price will be fixed for 12-months; not the same as fixing for 12-months.
"For one, Tracker is once again becoming a 12 month fixed term tariff because current regs don’t really work with the dynamic nature of Tracker – specifically, without a fixed term the tariff will be subject to the price cap, resulting in unworkable complexity with daily wholesale prices."
Does this not mean you'll have to commit for a whole year?0 -

I completely missed this change to the terms between Nov 2022 and Dec 2023 versions. T&Cs have also now been updated to reflect that:1 -

Therefore, the formula is fixed for 12-months and does not change.

That is what is meant by me striking through that statement and adding a clarifying edit. The poster you were replying to switched to Tracker in late October, so their formula is not fixed.
