i joined tracker February this year. smart meters were added March and June. my usage is showing for each from smart meter months on wards. thanks.Shedman said:
BTW I believe he has changed the criteria to now only include those with at least one years tracker history so if you haven't been on Tracker for that length you may not be added anywaypfpf said:
hey. did this yesterday. how do you actually see your own results today? i am on the website, do i have to put my same details in again on the same page and it will find me? i can't see a "filter" to find a specific name, i.e me.t0rt0ise said:The gastracker.uk guy has made a site that works out your savings this year and last by month, so I can see my savings this year so far are £710 on tracker compared with the SVT. Much easier than working it out myself. Doesn't quite do what those here want but is very useful. Go to gastracker.uk and hit Crowd Share. When added you can filter on your own name to get your own graph data.1 -
certainly no immediate spike but its not doing much. i think last week had a couple of slow "red" starts and then whoosh!! which got us where we are? an important week ahead to see how things are going.la531983 said:In better news there is seemingly no post-weekend gas spike, it opened lower than it closed on Friday and has gone down further.
one thing that tracker/smart meters and apps have done for me is make me understand energy use/cost (i had no clue and just used/payed). at least i can make a more informed decision going forward.
thanks all on this board.2 -
I tried to explain this to other people pleased at the early trading decrease in the wholesale gas price on another website (that I won't name for fear of reprisals) before I was graced with the moderators banhammer for violating their code of conduct. It's frustrating because we know that things may shift direction later but you can't tell them so they'll assume the price is going down until they get a nasty shock and find out they can't say why.pfpf said:

It is important to be informed and keep an eye on the wholesale gas price because it will have an impact on Tracker later today as well as the availability and price of fixed deals and in the future, the SVT too.1 -
I was merely trying to be positive....2

And more positivity, Tracker rates down to last Wednesday levels tomorrow (21.24p here)4

Ultimately i think if you're the type to get spooked by a small rise in the daily prices the tracker isn't for you.Gastrackeruk tells me I've saved over £700 this year acccross both fuels. I'll weather winter out because my elec use is high all year so I'll expect to be back to saving again before the 9 months tracker exclusion would expire2

To me it doesn't seem to make sense to look at these tariffs over a day or even a week.ashe said:Ultimately i think if you're the type to get spooked by a small rise in the daily prices the tracker isn't for you.Gastrackeruk tells me I've saved over £700 this year acccross both fuels. Seems like you should look at the savings over the lock out period that you can't go out and rejoin - so, for Tracker you look at your savings over 9 months versus next best tariff. For Agile it's 30 days.
I am on Agile right now but might switch to tracker soon. On Agile, I have saved £40 in the last rolling month compared to Tracker. For sure there have been a few days when I lost out but I gained massively on the days when the price was close to zero or negative.0 -
Ive been trying to persuade someone for months to go onto this tariff, he only did it last week and tbf I look a bit of a chump now, I suspect his attitude to risk isnt the same as mine but hopefully he sticks it out.ashe said:Ultimately i think if you're the type to get spooked by a small rise in the daily prices the tracker isn't for you.Gastrackeruk tells me I've saved over £700 this year acccross both fuels. I've been on tracker for gas and electric sine June 2022 and I've saved about the same amount.ashe said:Gastrackeruk tells me I've saved over £700 this year acccross both fuels.
I'm not jumping ship in a hurry but there are a few things that make Tracker not such a good bet now compared with the same time last year, namely SVR is lower, tracker caps are higher and there's no EPG0
