I am currently not eligible for any other credit cards. I’ll just wait until I can get a prime card and then closing some off. But I won’t close my oldest one which is Vanquis. Thank you for your advices!
I'm guessing because your accounts are fairly new (under a year) your eligibility will probably improve once some hard searches fall off.

I’ll keep an eye. Just waiting for the hard searches to fall and my accounts to age 😊

Have you tried the actual eligibility checker of the actual provider; not the MSE one? eg Quickcheck on MBNA / Virgin Money? They will soft search only to provide an indicative yes / no.

Virgin will usually show a Green banner at the top confirming if you apply you will be approved; or show a decline page.

Worth a go. Even Amex, who aren't that hard.

And I bank with Barclays :/
Haha - of course! Might be worth opening a nationwide or Halifax account. Give it 3-6 months and check your eligibility and you might get a surprise. They're pretty good, if you have a salary paid in / use them in any shape or form.

Sadly, Barclays & Barclaycard are two separate companies and your banking behaviour has no effect on Barclaycard saying yes; as a normal bank would.

Are Lloyds and Halifax the same bank? Do they share customer’s score between each other?

And yeah I’ve tried their individual eligibility checker as well.  Not eligible yet ☺️

Do Halifax and Lloyds share customer data as I have a spare account with Lloyds that I never use?

Are you sure about this? I've had a Google, and I can't find any references to suggest that Barclaycard is anything other than a brand or a trading name of Barclays Bank PLC.
The Barclaycard and Barclays apps also recently merged, and they are now essentially the same app, both giving full access to Barclays and Barlclaycard accounts. I can even pay my Barclaycard directly from the Barclays account within the app.

Yes they do. I have accounts with both banks. When I changed some details about myself in my Halifax online banking, then logged into my Lloyds about 1 minute later, the details were already updated on Lloyds as well.

The good thing about Halifax / Lloyds is that once you have a current acount with them, they don't do further hard searches, whether it's a credit card or another current account. But still use their eligibility checker first, before you apply. They even show you what credit limit you are eligible for, before you apply.

Oh well I messed up already then. When I set up my Lloyds, I moved two direct debits to it, that I’ve completely forgot about. So they bounced back. That was a couple of months ago. Never happened again afterwards.
