Relief from menopause misery...please help!

I can't carry on like this. I am miserable, snapping at my darling daughters (who do not deserve such treatment....I could cry about it) and probably on the verge of some sort of warning from my boss about my miserable attitude!
There is so much to do, the house and garden are going to the dogs (like myself _pale_ ) and there has been so much expense this year.....old car finally gave up the ghost, had to replace fridge, washing machine, shed roof just to mention a few.

HRT is an absolute no-no for me and over-the-counter stuff is so expensive. I want to be that happy life-loving person that I used to be. Does anyone know of any old-style effective remedies that I could try? Please? Before I burst into tears? :(:(:(

Try Saint John's Wort in liquid form ( a few drops in water)

Or Bachs Rescue remedy when you are stressed out and could weep.

I'm sorry but we are not allowed to give medical advice on MSE.

What I will do is to move your post to the Health Board for you where might find help and support.

Wild Yam contains a natural progesterone that is meant to be incredibly effective at sorting out women's hormones - from puberty onwards and right through the menopause. I did read/listen to some information about this and the fact that artificial progesterone can make thing worse for women. It is said that if the progesterone is sorted out, then there is no need for artificial oestrogen to be taken.

It is a few years since I read/heard this, but I won't use artificial progesterone ie the Merena (sp?) coil. However, I have some wild yam cream and I believe Holland and Barrett sell it, although don't know the price. I don't think it's overly expensive, but then your health problems come first. With my cream (which can't be bought OTC) you apply for 21 days with 7 days (period) off, rubbing a small amount into the soft skin areas, like belly, inner thigh, inside upper arm etc. I'm assuming the H&B one will be similar. You can get wild yam in tablet form too.

Hope you find something that helps and ((hugs))

My mother uses evening primrose oil and sage leaf. I can honestly say her moods are better! ;)
The sage has dramatically reduced her hot flushes as well.
    Good luck

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Just knowing that there are things that can help is a help! I really do not like myself much at the moment, such a miserable old bag and I never used to be like this!

I try to shy away from such matters. ;)

Comes from working with a wholly female staff!!!!!!!

I do remember something fairly recently about a cake. This cake is made with all sorts of seeds and pulses that are high in all manner of things that can help.

Has anyone else heard of this? There was a recipe for it available at my local bakers about a year ago which must have been about the time it was being featured on daytime telly shows.

Don't make me have to ask the two ladies on my staff who are going through this too

    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.
