Thinking of a house name

Had an offer accepted on a house - but it has an awful traditional Scottish name - named after some random mountain
Time to think of a new name to go with its new identity once we modernise the place... quite tricky thinking of one!

Named after a random mountain? Bet it's not - do tell us -, and please remember (presumably this is of scots Gaelic origin ??) the language was in UK years and years before the alien, largely imported, "English" turned up, as was Welsh. When we lived in Maidenhead, many miles from the sea, we named our house (previous I think number 10) "Seaview". The neighbours treated us even more warily after that.Slàinte mhath!

Just go with the number - it does have a number right?0

I hope it's number 19, then you can call it Covid 199

Is it officially named, does the name appear on Royal Mail if you search for it? It's one thing to have a nice name, but its another to discard the number and go with a name. I recall reading about it being a headache waiting for the name to update in lots of different databases.
Our house is at the bottom of a hill, where a stretch of cobbles ends. I've chuckled that we should call the house "Cobble Bottom". We haven't though, I've paid for the bin number stickers already.4 -
Does it have a number? Not everywhere does - we don't. Mind you, our official address doesn't have a road name, either - just house name, village.
(And, yes, that does get really fun when two houses in the village have the same name...)
(And, yes, we have had post for "same house name, different village". Repeatedly.)
Anyway - if it does have a number, then... you don't have to use the name.

NOOOOO!!! Don't change the name! It's unlucky to change a house name. In any case, having a house named after a mountain/fell/hill is as perfect as could be in my opinion at least. Our house is named after a fell and I wouldn't have it any other way (admittedly, we're avid fell/mountain walkers/lovers but still).

Is this in Scotland and is the house historic? You may not be smoothing your way to good community relations if you change an historic local name to something anglicised (or anything other than the original tbh). If the house is relatively new or not in Scotland then probably no hackles would be raised.
Edited to remove poor grammar I was sure I'd corrected before posting the first time...
