How much compensation should I get? My bank sent a txt with my personal account details and how much and sent it to my husband. And nothing solved and they can’t see why it was sent

Have you been throught the formal 8 week complaints process? What did they say?
Why was your husband's phone number on your account?
I think you needs bit more context. Like we're you transferring money to someone (him?). Was this totally random?
They may offer you a goodwill gesture of £50 as you haven't suffered any financial loss as a result.
This is probably better on the banking board.0 -
No he’s not on my account! It had the last 4 numbers of my account and told him how much was there. I’ve spoke and made complaint with them and they are looking into it, they’ve said I will be compensated.0

Ah ok, I’m new I wasn’t sure which board to put this on. Yes completely random0

His phone number must be somewhere in your bank account details - do you have a joint account at the same bank? That might do it.Signature removed for peace of mind0

Are you concealing anything from your husband? Leaving compo culture aside, I suppose I just wonder why it might be such a big deal if your relationship is functioning normally. But then I'm probably very old fashioned in my thinking that there is no 'mine', only 'ours' in marriage...4

I suppose it depends on the harm that was done. If none, a goodwill gesture of £25 - 50 seems appropriate. They do need to acknowledge that they cocked up and did not treat your information as they should have.
If there was actual harm caused, it would all depend on what actually happened.1 -
Assuming you didn't suffer any loss then a small amount by way of apology - maybe £25 - £50?All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)1

Not concealing anything from husband, we both a joint account and a separate account i just don’t feel it’s right that the bank has sent my personal banking information out, Regardless if it’s my husband or not they shouldn’t be sending private information out on my personal account it’s a breech of confidentialityratechaser said:Are you concealing anything from your husband? Yes, so an apology would probably be in order. Have they said sorry?Dotty2020 said:
